Pawn Stars

The ultra rare rocket-firing #BobaFett on a cardback shown at the New York Toy Fair in 1979 made an appearance on "Pawn Stars" on this day in 2016

ICYMI, each "rocket" Fett prototype out there came loose, but just this one fully painted version on a placeholder carded was made for and shown at the expo

Remembering the late Alan Harris (1938-2020) on his birthday today

Alan modeled the Prototype #BobaFett costume (later worn by Duwayne Dunham) including a test of the flamethrower attachment

He also played Bossk in "Empire" among other characters, including being the body mold for Han Solo in carbonite

"To create the sound for the Slave I, Ben Burtt did what he always did whenever he had to create a sound for a spaceship: look at how the ship was designed, how it looked like, how fast it would move, and what it could do. For the takeoff sound of the Slave I, Burtt combined a trumpet's whine with the horn of his own 1971 Dodge Duster while it was on a desert road." -- StarWars.com

Steve, the world's largest #StarWars collector and head of fan relations for Lucasfilm, is the proud owner of these original L-slot and J-slot prototype #BobaFett action figures.

According to Chris Georgoulias of TheSWCA.com, there are approximately 65 L-slots and 15 J-slots out there, which can fetch upwards of $20,000 each.

#ThrowbackThursday: "Empire" production designer Norman Reynolds drew this blueprint, entitled "Supertrooper II (Prototype Mockup)" in May 1978. This all-white supertrooper would later become #BobaFett.

Star Wars Holiday Special

Today, D-Street and DisneyStore.com are expected to have available the latest #Disney Vinylmation #BobaFett. The #StarWars "Holiday Special" look retails for $16.95 and is a limited edition of 1,500.

San Anselmo Country Fair Day and Parade

#BobaFett's first public appearance was at the San Anselmo Community Fair and Parade on September 24, 1978. The costume was worn by Duwayne Dunham, who also wore the all-white prototype armor. This photo was recently shared by the official #StarWars website in an exclusive interview with Dunham. Note the "eye" marks on the helmet above the visor, which were part of the pre-production look, but eventually removed for the final character.
