An #SDCC 2022 exclusive from this last July, Hasbro's Black Series "In Disguise" #BobaFett is starting to ship to those who got him
His look is based on his appearance in #WarOfTheBountyHunters Alpha #1 where he temporarily sprays down his "Empire Strikes Back" armor "so he can fight without suffering repercussions," notes the press release from July
Written by Charles Soule with art by Luke Ross, some context here: Qi'ra stole Han Solo in Carbonite from Fett before he reached Jabba and she tried to sell to the highest bidder
"#WarOfTheBountyHunters" #BobaFett by Steve McNiven vs. Hot Toys
According to an SDCC related press release we got from Sideshow Collectibles yesterday, "early access to pre-order the [Hot Toys] Boba Fett (Arena Suit) will be available for Sideshow Con registrants from 7/11-7/19 while supplies last! [If not sold out], Fett will be be [available to all] for pre-order via sideshow [dot] com after 7/19 11:59PM PT."
Note that anyone can register for Sideshow Con for free and it's the week before SDCC
Inspired by his all-black "nano spray" look in #WarOfTheBountyHunters Alpha #1 (2021), Hot Toys has revealed a Toy Fair exclusive 1/6 scale #BobaFett "Arena Suit" collectible figure.
It'll also be up for pre-order soon at Sideshow Collectibles, the North American distributor for Hot Toys
Steve McNiven's artwork with the start of Charles Soule's storyline, where the all-black look was just nano-spray paint (that evaporates in a few days) to look less recognizable in a fight (to make some coin because Fett's broke?) and, while he's out, Han Solo in Carbonite gets stolen from him (by Qi'ra) ... and that was part one of 34
We're proud to officially announce that the "#WarOfTheBountyHunters #3" variant cover by Erik M. Gist will be exclusively available from IGComicStore on Friday, July 30 at 10am Central: https://bobafett.club/mj531
According to the comic store, there will only be this textless ("virgin") format and it's limited to only 800 hand selected copies
Now that "#WarOfTheBountyHunters #2" has been out for a few days, our spoiler-filled review is up – and it's quite a critique: https://bobafett.club/wotbh2review
The #WarOfTheBountyHunters arc continues today with Doctor Aphra #12 and War of the Bounty Hunters #2, to be read as part 12 and 13 respectively in the 34-issue storyline
The regular cover (shown here) is by Steve McNiven; there are 15 other artist/store exclusives available
Despite being issue #1, the storyline began with WOTBH Alpha #1, then went to Star Wars #13, Bounty Hunters #12, Darth Vader #12, Doctor Aphra #10, and continues with this one; the total arc is 34 issues long
Long before #WarOfTheBountyHunters, we had a very similar storyline in #ShadowsOfTheEmpire and on this day in 1996, the second issue of the "legendary" short series was published
Written by John Wagner, illustrated by Kilian Plunkett, inked by P. Craig Russell, colored by Cary Porter, and published by Dark Horse Comics
The one in the middle by Tyler Kirkham is up for pre-order starting today at 11am Pacific; the one on the far left Carlo Pagulayan has a textless ("virgin") version limited to just 501 copies; second from the left is by Matthew DiMasi aka Shattered Comics, an homage to the vintage Star Wars #42 cover; right of center is by John McCrea and has a limited edition of 1980; and far right is by Paolo Villanelli, who is the artist behind Star Wars: Bounty Hunters
Starting May 5th, #WarOfTheBountyHunters begins with a "prelude" issue before it crosses over to four other titles and then back for a five-issue mini series in June
Written by Charles Soule – who shared on Twitter yesterday that this stands apart from "Shadows of the Empire" despite telling a tale of Fett's delivery of Solo to Jabba – this one starts with a cover plus interior art by Steve McNiven
The four cross-overs after this one will be Star Wars #13 on sale May 12, Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #12 on sale May 19, Star Wars: Darth Vader #12 on sale May 26, and Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #10 on sale May 26
SPOTTED: Diamond Select Toys has a new 7" scale #BobaFett figure, which looks like a Disney Parks exclusive. We've emailed our pal at Diamond to see about more info.

The official Lucasfilm Christmas card in 2013 was illustrated by Tyler Scarlet. It featured Star Wars bounty hunters Dengar, IG-88, Boushh, #BobaFett, Bossk, 4-LOM, and Zuckuss doing some holiday caroling. We love that Bossk's sheet music is upside down.
"That's why he's the best." #BobaFett wrapped up a great storyline -- outsmarting Bossk, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM -- in the six-part "Shadows of the Empire" comic adaptation written by John Wagner. Pencils by Kilian Plunkett & John Nadeau, ink by P. Craig Russell, and color by Cary Porter. Published throughout 1996 by Dark Horse Comics.
(Helmet nod to Chris Wyman of RebelScum.com for taking a higher quality photograph of this print, which we re-touched to match a lower-res version from Cukr's original online release. Wyman also noted this piece as titled "Arrival of the Bounty Hunters," which is different than our record for it.)
