I like Boba Fett the same reason I lke:
* 2Pac
* Ghost Rider
* Kratos (God of War)
* and many of my friends.

BECAUSE HE IS A STRAIGHT UP LONER! Boba Fett realizes that the thing called trust, is unesseccary.
They only trust THEMSELVES. ;)

I wouldn't like Boba for the same reason as Tupac.  We'd have a dead mando on our hands if he was anything like him.  :P

Stupid Question Time:

who's Tupac?

Tupac was a famous rap star who died about 7 or 8 years back. That is the most I know about him.

shame on u ralin, even if rap appalls you- one should know thine enemy.
even the devil knows the bible :P

i read once somewhere that the popularity of Fett is purely visual, and i agree w/ that...but it is only half of the story. i think the "loner thing" appeals to all of us Boba fans on a psychological level- i would hazard a guess that all of us consider our selves to be the sort to be on the outside looking in.
and while as a child the visual aspect is what made me treasure my Fett figure, above all my others- as an adult, his cold nature and Clint Eastwoodian persona has kept me a fan and intrigued, heres hoping that the Tv show doesnt unravel the mystery, as the movies have already begun to do so.

1 of 1000,000 reasons why I like Boba Fett is that he'll get the job done when he says he will.

July 9, 2008 5:58 pm #

I am a fan of Fett for a few reasons, but to say one would be the way he handled himself in the Sarlacc.

He didn't feel sorry for himself, he didn't try to plead with the sentient being in the Sarlacc, he continued to resist even while being dissolved slowly in acid.  It would have been easy to go mad with pain and let the eternal darkness swallow him, but he held on to his will to survive and focused his entire will and being into escaping, or at least hurting the Sarlacc.

It is reminiscent of the frog being swallowed by the bird, but it holds on to its throat, refusing to go quietly into the night.

Fett also lives up to his own moral standard, no one elses.  We should mimic his resolve to our principles, I don't think they should be ours though, otherwise you are trying to live someone else's and not your own.  You have to live life and conduct yourself by principles that you agree with and hopefully they are grounded in solid foundations of law and order and good will toward men.

What I used to like most about BF is how mysterious he used to be. I used to think it was sooo cool that they made his action figure before he appeared in any films, he was part of SW before his actual appearance in the films. That's normal these days. Toys and collectibles come out way before the film does but in 1977 that was weird. I though it was really cool how his first set of armor had very little symmetry in terms of the color scheme, he had green body armor and helmet one red gauntlet one yellow, his cape was all torn up and he look like he had been through battle. His first set of gloves were really cool. He had more wires and things hanging off of him. (In short, I love the original BF design. The one Kenner used for the first carded figure)

What I think was most cool about the character as a whole was the lack of perspective we as the audience had.

Now he has been elaborated past the point of being interesting. I don't follow the comics and games because I don't want to know about BF's father or his past or future for that matter. I was/ am really happy not knowing all the details of his life. The Bounty Hunter series of books are about as far as I want to get into the extended universe of SW. The costume design alone creates its own persona. I really don't need to know what his morals are to appreciate the character. Kind of like a force of nature.

I like to remember back when I was seven, when SW was in the theaters, getting the mail-away Boba Fett figure before I even knew who the hell he was. That was so cool.

Sorry if this sounds negative I have just lost a lot of faith in Mr. Lucas over the years.

Boba Fett rocks!

I can't really describe what I like about Boba.Is it that he's too smart?Or maybe because he's ruthess?I don't know,maybe a combination of many things.Boba is a great warrior,with such skill that few people can match all over the galaxy.He has much history,and surely a hard life.I respect him.:)

I like Fett because he tought himself how to be a bounty hunter. And then turned out to be the greatest one in the galaxy

September 3, 2008 5:11 pm #

I think it is a combination of the helmet and his attitude. U cant ever see his expression, and hes always got this coldness to his voice. Hes pretty much a badass. But yeah his helmet and armor are my favorite part about him.

Great point; I think that sums up why we all like him.  The armor grabs you attention, and then the cold attitude and his almost equel footing when talking to Vader really make you wonder just how much of a Bad@$$ this guy is

eBay's as good a place as any.  If you don't like throwing your credit card *or your parent's credit card number as the case may be* over the net, then it would depend on the stores you have available.  I've never seen on in the crappy places I have near by...

December 23, 2008 2:39 pm #

Nope, your spelling's good to go, and I know what you mean. Probably one of my favorite stories about Boba comes out of one of those books with short stories about a bunch of characters. It's the one where he blasts through an entire Imperial garrison just to get his mark, can't get much more determined than that.

Welcome to the BFFC, by the way.

WHAT USED TO BE REALLY COOL ABOUT BOBA FETT was that he had NO emotion ( before all the novels and crap). I wish I could be like that.

Mysterious, weapons master, highly trained warrior/fighter, does what he wants when he wants, strong cool looking armor, neither good or bad: neutral, unafraid of anyone or anything..... give me time and I can think of more reasons

Oh yeah and he's quite the ladies man:

I think it's his honour. When he takes on a client. His word is his bond. When he says he'll do a job for an agreed price, he does it. He doesn't get 'rebought' by the bounty either.
His 'gadjets' are the mutts nutts too. And you gotta admit, Slave I might look like the funkiest ship out there but it is by far the coolest machine. (But then again KDY weren't known for building rubbish).

Hail to you girls. I agree. Hurrah for guys who can assume to be something else! I like a guy I can praise for who he is, no matter how unpopular or different he can be. Simplicity can be quite attractive.

Boba doesn't pretend to much, either. He's just there, quite the killer, but nearly unnoticed, quiet, unseen. I like.

I could also mention how cool his armor is, but that would be too easy. Everyone said it before me.

Yay! That's it! He is who he is!

That's what I try be-myself. Good for Boba! And don't worry Cin, his armor's so cool, there's just no way to get over it. I'll say it: His armor rocks!

Some may run a short while, but none of them would bide.

I think this extends to all areas of the Star Wars universe...the design is what attracts me the most. I am convinced that is the whole reason SW became as successful as it did...great design work. A lot of the tech from the old movies still looks futuristic. The original stormtroopers still look futuristic. Just totally great design work.
