An ancient group of soldiers and warriors feared throughout the Galaxy, they had once fought against the Jedi in what was known as the Mandalorian Wars, and were nearly erradicated...or so it was believed.

The original Mandalorians were honor-bound conquerors following their Mandalore. Unlike the leaders of some other cultures, the Mandalore is usually an abled fighter.

One of it's best known members was the bounty hunter Jango Fett who had been adopted and raised as one of them by a Mandalorian named Jaster Mereel after his family was slaughtered by a renegrade group of Mandalorians called The Death Watch. This act of adoption was actually part of the Mandalorian's way of life in which they would often adopt children who had been made orphans after losing their parents in battle. As such, the Mandalorians are not made up of a single race. A Mandalorian can be nearly any race, with some of the more common ones being humans and Mandallian Giants.

The Mandalorians trademark came in the form of the armor they wore. Mandalorian armor was extremely durable and very valuable and would often be passed down to the children or spouses of a Mandalorian who died in battle. For example, the bounty hunter Boba Fett, took the armor of his father Jango Fett after he was killed by the Jedi Mace Windu on Geonosis.
