Fan Spotlight: DoseOrdo
Continuing with our new feature here at The Boba Fett Fan Club, we’ll be conducting interviews every so often with Fett fans that are friends of BobaFett.com on our Myspace or Facebook.
Introducing our latest spotlight, our friend on MySpace, DoseOrdo!
To start off Dose, tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Mike. I’m 24 and live on the east cost of central Florida. I work for a home builder as an architectural drafter, basically I draw the blue prints. About four years ago I started playing Star Wars Galaxies where I founded The Mandalorian Brotherhood, a Mandalorian role-play guild, on the Wanderhome server. Recently I’ve been hanging out in the Mandalorian Mercs Costuming Club forums and am planning on building a suit of my own.
How long have you been a member of the site?
I joined the site a few month back and enjoy reading posts made by like minded individuals. It’s a great place to be for all things Boba Fett.
What initially made you a fan of Boba Fett?
I’d say like many people the over all mystique behind the visor of the Mandalorian helmet caught my interest. Upon looking further into the culture of the Mandalorian people I was hooked.
What is something you have learned from Fett that you can apply to your every day life?
You have to admire a man who can stay calm and collected and get the job done well.
What’s your favorite Fett line (from the films or not) and which Boba Fett do you prefer (original trilogy Fett or post-prequel Fett)?
In the book “Tales of the Bounty Hunters”, Boba Fett said: “Those worlds rose in rebellion against the authority legally in place over them. The Emperor was within his rights to destroy them; they threatened the system of social justice that permits civilization to exist. I am sorry for the deaths of the innocent. But that happens in a war, Leia Organa. The innocent die in wars, and your side should not have started this one.” To Princess Leia. It gave me a new twist to the entire Star Wars universe on “good guys” and “bad guys.”
What is your favorite Fett EU (Expanded Universe) appearance?
Hands down Fett in the Legacy of the Force books. The strongest part about his character is his struggle between cold hearted killer and family man. Its great to see a more dynamic Boba Fett as he begins to care about more things then himself and credits.
What do you hope to see in store for Boba Fett in the future?
I’m interested to see what is in store for Boba Fett. He got a bad deal at the end of the final Legacy book so I hope to see him overcome what happens to him at the end. Over all though I hope he strengthens the culture and in time have the warrior’s death that fits him, far more so then falling into a Sarlacc.
