BFFC’s own Ross Pender, reporting from this year’s San Diego Comic Con, gets the latest from those who really know.

Ross: “Are there any future projects dealing with Boba Fett or the bounty hunters and also what was the process behind keeping Boba Fett alive in the novels?”

Steve Sansweet, a representative of Lucasfilm, first answered humorously: “There’s a big project called Episode 2 coming up that George has said will include Boba Fett.”

Sansweet: “There was no real decision to keep Fett alive for he never really died; he was just in the Sarlacc.”

Peet James (president of Dark Horse Comics): “Fett is still a lively character, I can’t guarantee any future projects but they are likely. There will be a series of one-shot comics coming out (the first in October) dealing with the bounty hunters. The first comic deals during the prequel era and will not include Fett but the other bounty hunters. The second is during the classic era. And the third is after Return of the Jedi.
