Today, the Official Star Wars website released a press announcement that names the director for the second stand-alone Star Wars film, due out after Episode 7 and the first stand-alone feature.

The announcement does not name a subject matter nor the writer. Still to this day, there is still zero official confirmation of a Boba Fett film.

Both Trank and Gareth Edwards have gone from highly-acclaimed indie features to big-budget studio features — with attachment to their sequels. That’s a huge similarity to both of their resumes. Trank is behind the new “Fantastic Four,” not the one we’ve already seen. See his resume on IMDb.
