"Animated" Boba Fett and Stormtroopers Sericel

Limited edition 15" x 17" seri-cel.

The Star Wars Insider magazine touted this as from the "Star Wars Holiday Special." However, the certificate of authenticity talks about "Droids." Both included Boba Fett and were done by the same animation studio, although in 1978 and 1985 respectively. The armor is clearly Holiday Special, whereas Droids changed the chest armor a bit.

In 1985, Lucasfilm developed two, new, original animated series based on the Star Wars trilogy, Droids and Ewoks. These two, extraordinary, animated series featured R2-D2 and C-3PO and the Ewoks from the moon of Endor in self-contained stories. Both series featured the best quality animation and dazzling special effects, thus further enhancing the Star Wars legacy.

An animated film is comprised of thousands of individual, hand-painted cels. When these cels are photographed one after another they create the illusion of movement. This Cel re-creates the look and feel of the original art by means of Serigraphy, a Fine Art process. To produce this Serigraph Cel or Seri-Cel, a hand-cut, master screen is prepared for each individual color. The serigrapher meticulously applies each color separately one screen at a time, and in perfect registration. The result is an original work of art.

The art for this Seri-Cel was carefully selected from the Lucasfilm archives. The Image accompanyin this certificate has been limited in production of only 5000 pieces. After each edition size is archived, the screens used in creating the art are destroyed, thus insuring their limited status.
