Re: Harry Potter and the DEATHLY HALLOWS
I got weepy at a few parts, but I think it was a good end to the series... Except for the epilogue...
The BFFC boards will be changing soon. Take a look at the brand-new pages and start using the new version now. You can also contact us with any feedback or requests.

Loved it! Finished it yesterday. The only thing that I can say is that it seemed a bit rushed in places, but that could be just cause i read it with only about three durrie breaks! Easely thhe best and the darkest!
Well today's the big day. Who lives and who dies?
It was also my birthday....I can not wait to get the book I listen to them on tape.
I gave Harry Potter a chance, I read the first 3 books then decided "Well, I don't really like it that much and hey, the movies are coming out" So I'm waiting for the films. And on the films, Harry looks like hes in his 20's now, either they cast a new actor or do the rest of the movies before he starts graying ...
They're all getting too old. I think most of the actors are like 18+ and they are supposed to be 15 year olds... Personally, I think they should have made the films after this last book came out so they knew what details to put in and what to leave out. (Continuity reasons...)
I think if they replaced Daniel though, rabid fangirls would completely spazz.
They won't replace any of the actors, they've all already signed up for the last few movies. The movies are horrid though. Simply awful. I nearly cried at the end of POA just cause of how much was cut or changed. And OOTP wasn't any better, every scene was three seconds long except for the really long kissing scene that wasn't even in the book. Unless you want to sit there clueless with a tiny little fraction of the story and ask people who've read the books what's going on all the time.... just read the books yourself.
I mean, I still like the movies, they're decent enough, and they did give us some good things, such as Alan Rickman. I just feel bad for newbs is all.
I do not think they should change the actors as would not be the same with different actors at this stage.
Anyway in the last few films they will not be that much gap between the age that they are in the film and real life. They will be able to get away with it.
I enjoy the films but they are obviously nowhere near as funky as the books. I just love Alan Rickman, he is such a great actor and rather yummy as well
Grease just adds flavor.
It seems we have a cannibal in the house!
Ah, I'll 3rd the "The Books are WAY better than the movies" statement.
I really don't think Daniel Radcliffe is getting to old, I mean, when you reach a certain age, I'd say around 15, you don't change much physically... until later on in your 20's, I guess.
Hahah, I'm another Alan Rickman fan as well, I know he's like older than my dad, but there's something about him that is strangely attractive... I love his voice, lol.
I've drawn some HP fanart... I'll have to get around to posting it here for you all. One of them is a Star Wars crossover!

His voice is just so funky. You are right there is something about him that is very attractive.
I would like to see your artwork
I definitely third the very attractive part! And his voice is lovely indeed. He's 63, btw. 0_0
Hahah, well, uh, you know what they say.... age is just a number! lol
Oh, yeah, he's some drawings I did:
This one is of Lily & Sev:

This one is a SW cross over featuring everyone's favorite death stick dealer, Elan Sleavebaggano (it's sad that I know his name, isn't?)

Yay i just finished reading it at 3:00 last night! Good ending, even though the epilogue should have had more.
JK left it like that for all youts to imagine.
The book was cool, Snape did a lot for Dumbledore (and Lily, technically). I'm so getting a Snape shirt at Hot Topic
You might want to put a spoiler warning in front of that, Gustavo.
Those drawings are funky Manji_Ninja thank you for sharing them
Spolier warning.
I post on another forum and there was a link to an interview with JK put on it, which explains about the epilogue

Great article devil girl, i was looking for something like that to expalin some things.
Man The Book Was Good!
Just like the rest of Harry Potter.
The day I admit Rowling is a good author is the day I eat my own hat. (not sure which one...)
Sure she's made ton of money, is admired by millions of ignorant kids, and hated by the church. But that doesn't make her worth yours or my time.My problems with Harry Potter:
Stereotypes
Cliches (pardon my lacking the accent)
Absurd storylines (Kills Dumbledore, then you have that Umbridge woman.)
And the Library happens to have everything you'd ever want or need
It repeats itself every so often
Harry starts liking Ron's younger sister suddenly from out of nowhere[Lolicon much(Pedophile is harder to spell)]
There's a loop hole to everything
Character change is slow and rather strange. What I liked:
The BasiliskAlthough not to say it isn't a terrible book series, there are worse. One day I hope to beat Rowling as an Author. There are plenty of people here with a better scope on writing I'd say.
i want to beat her writing also. it won't be hard.
i hated the basilisk in the movie...
If it wasn't for Voldamort, we wouldn't have this masterpiece: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dunechaser/469026165/
i hated the basilisk in the movie...
Just the movie verson?
