Topic: Video: Introduction to Boba Fett

Is it just me or does this video prove what a dork George Lucas is.  They say it in so many words that Fett was designed to be an eye-catching character for promotional purposes, not a plot device for half of the f...ing Star Wars universe.

As I have said elsewhere, that was what I used to think was so cool about him, no back story. Just a cool looking bad-ass kind of guy with a lot of mystery.  If he had stayed that way I would have a bunch more respect for George but he caved to the fanboys.

Am I taking this too far?

george keeps pretending like he knew it was this way all along
i call BS
george lucas had no idea that darth vader was luke skywalker's father until he wrote empire strikes back as far as i'm concerned.

I'm with you and it's so obvious if you watch the movies that a lot of the stuff that has become SW canon has largely been made up by fanboys.

I really don't think Mr Lucas doesn't like Boba Fett at all ,and he got a bit of a Dent in his Ego ,when Boba Fett became very popular ,,so he gave the Fans a Little bit of Boba Fett,then  that was that Zapped
he was gone ,,he really could have done more with Boba,but I think Darth Vader is his favourite

I think that also explains why Boba Fett has become such a major figure in the SW universe too. George saw a chance to build off of the concept and design and work of others and yet again claim that it was " always the way I planned it"

A prime example of this being Jango Fett (I'm almost sure this has been said before, but I'm too lazy to analyze every post tongue )  Upon seeing how popular Boba was with us fans, Lucas built on it by making Jango, if for nothing else than to throw in another guy in a T-visor.  I like Jango, but I preferred Boba before he had his mystique unveiled.  Lucas never would have made Jango a character if Boba had been less popular.  I think that's what I am trying to get at.

Due to maintenance problems, the light at the end of the tunnel will not be in operation today.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
