Re: Storm Cells
I've always liked hail. But wow. Has anyone ever been outside in a hailstorm? Don't do it. It may LOOK fun, but it really AIN'T.

Scars are fun.
I live in the midwest USA and got hit by the storms. We had the biggest hail I've ever seen in my life (which was only 1-2 inches in diameter) and it was bouncing through the yard. It was really cool.
My parents swear they saw ORANGE sized hail once. My mom even saved some in the freezer for once.
We aren't getting any severe weather here, unless you consider heat to be severe. The funny thing is we get all the storms the midwest gets before they do....but while they get everything.... we just get a lot of wind all day XD
Once in July, on a normal summer day, it started hailing. For no apparant reason, it wasn't even cloudy.
The size of an ORANGE!?!
That's REALLY weird. How big was the hail? The biggest I've ever seen has been grape size.
Or a baseball. Whatever trips your trigger.
I didn't see it for myself 'cause I don't belive I was around then (if I was I was too little to remember). But my parents were kinda stupid about it, they stood out in it watching it XD

Huh?
hey BalanceSheet, what part of Wa do you live in?
I am in Tumwater, which is by Olimpya.
Sorry for not answering, I've been in south Texas for the last week.
And I just went and posted in the new "where you live" forum...
It feels so great to be back from that humid, scorching wasteland...good ol Washington, where the sun never shines...
Washington sounds like a good place to live.
Someone was talking about hail the size of a orange. Most people say the size of a baseball. They are relatively the same size, so, wichever one you decide to use, is your decision.

Thats what you think
It rains alot here!!!
But the rain keeps the plants nice and green.
If only the sun would come out...
Well, that's no problem for me. I love rain more than just about any other weather thing, and the sunshine isn't always so nice. Once in a while I like sunshine, but I prefer overcast and rainy. But here in Montana, land of eternal sunshine and blue skys... When it does rain here it does so for about fifteen minutes then stops.
Well, you would be right at home here...we usually get what, two weeks of clear skies per year? Last January, it rained every day for almost a MONTH. Almost broke our old record of 33 days nonstop rain.
Eastern Washington is completely different though...we get all the rain on the west side of the Cascades...those poor losers get none.
