If they aren't, I'll smack 'em for you. Welcome to the BFFC.
* AS I SAID * I don't want another arguement on my thread...Get over it, or get lost. BACK TO SUBJECT...PLEASE!

To say something on topic, I like Boba because he kills people. There.
irritating other people isn't what should be considered fun, especially since it gets people thrown. From here on out...it needs to be on subject....all of it. That goes for me, True Warrior, The Yautja, and anyone else that posts. Yautja, Thank you for your comment on what you like about Boba Fett, it is appreciated.

I like Boba Fett for his fearless and inventive ways. He is always wanting to improve everything that he has. (modified slave 1). I also really enjoy how he can just fly around at the flick of a switch with his awesome jetpack.
{MW} MS9
Yes, I agree with you on the jetpack, Spy. One click and it's up,up,....and AWAAAAAAY!!!!
{MW} TW
i think that is one of the main reasons why i like him soo much. without it on his back....he looks like he is seriously missing something....incomplete...

Boba's jetpack was much more realistic than Jango's. Our much-revered, green-clad anti-hero's gives him a short burst of speed in an upwards direction, which makes a lot of sense, considering that the thrust nozzles are fixed downwards. Jango, however, somehow manages to maneuver in the air while his jetpack can only lift straight up. You can say all you want about shifting body weight, but I still think it's screwed up.
Yeah, I heard something about his jetpack being like that, and I couldn't agree with you more. I noticed some of that in the movies.

The nozzles do point downward...but can move with the direction he wants to go---forward...they turn away from him backwards...they turn toward him. They might even move side to creat slow but effective side movement....i'm not quite sure though...how it all works...
{MW} MS9
Yeah, I think the little nozzles can move. They do on a few action figures.
*Moderator's Note: Keep in mind the Rules and avoid hateful or abusive content.*
Now, let's say that Mr. Spy is right, and the nozzles do move. And, in turn, when he wants to move backwards, the thrust nozzles angle towards him. Now, let's throw in some math: Boba, a well-muscled man who's been fighting almost non-stop his entire life (+ his armor and weapons), must weigh in at at least 200 pounds, almost definitely more. Now, given the speed at which the jetpack carries him, let's mulitply that by...2? 5? 7? That's at the very least 400 pounds of thrust; and if Spy is right, that means 400 lbs. (with the addition of temperatures exceeding a few hundred degrees) of pressure exerted directly onto the back of his legs. Assuming that he's still a 200 pound lightweight, those 400 lbs. could easily become 1400, nobody knows for sure what the exact statistics are.
What I am sure of however, is that 400 - 1400+ pounds of thrust, plus the addition of hundreds of degrees in temperature, applied at close proximity to Boba's or Jango's lightly-armored legs (in fact angled at the appendages themselves), would be enough to have them walking on toothpicks.
Check and mate.
lol, yeah, I agree, if Boba (or Jango) tried to fly backwards with the nozzles pointing at his legs, their legs would catch fire. But what if they slightly angled from straight down to slightly away from the legs? That could cause them to go forward instead of up. I suppose that's one thing that's wrong with the Bounty Hunter game, in it you can go backwards while flying.
Video games have leave to stretch reality. After all, if everything were perfectly realistic in games, a lot of them would be impossible, and as such lose their fun. But that seems like a topic for Serious Geeking, and I'll go no further into it. Just let it suffice that not everything in games can be used as a solid point in realistic discussions.
i agree with that, although i must say that the entire SW universe is like that. Full of the unexplainable...so i try not to focus soo much o probability, but what actually happens, that way it doesn't ruin the impossible reality of SW itself.

Wow, impressive math on the jetpack, SciFiFreak. I think that since Star Wars is sci-fi, maybe they've figured out a way to get around the jet-pack problem. That and since it's fantasy, we shouldn't overthink it. I prefer to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the film.
I like Boba's dialogue in the comic books. He never says too much at once, but when he does it's always either profound or sarcastic. Or sometimes he uses fancy words like "succor" to show off how much smarter he is than everyone else, which I find amusing. He's such an egotist.
But in light of recent disservices to our much loved Boba Fett...Joss Whedon is my master now.
ALL HAIL JOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SciFi, a true believer I have found in you!!!!
Indeed. Serenity and Firefly are truly incredible. But, I'm willing to bet that they have their own fan sites, so we'll drop it for the time being. Glad to find another fan of the underdog show.
whether or not the jetpack is logical...i think it ROCKS so lets get back to what we like most about him...

This is weird. Tonight, I'm cooking dinner (which was breakfast food - the old man loves breakfast for dinner on friday). A friend was over with his toddler, picking out comics Tim is giving away, and as I'm seasoning the hashbrowns with paprika, this thought pops into my head: Of all the things I like about Fett (and I've posted many of them), I think what is really cool is his pragmatism. He's not lame, or hung up when he deals with people or situations. He handles them to get the best result, and he's able to switch gears at the drop of the hat because he's pragmatic. No matter what comes up, he deals with it and moves on. That's a rare quality, and I think it's something that helps him be so effective. I don't know why it hit me while cooking potatos, they seem a very un-Fett like vegetable.

They say " it's not paranoia when they are really out to get you," so it is probably not megalomania when you really are the best .
By the way SciFiFreak90, is the Firefly seris as great as great as the Serenity movie?
