Re: Favorite video game?
Terra, are you going to stick with Sims 2 or upgrade to 3? I pretty much stopped playing 2 pretty much the same time 3 came out. I never really played 2 anyway, I just built houses. I'm actually playing 3. And it's a lot of fun!
Hey there Miba, how are you? I'd love to see your Sims 2 houses, if you did just that, I bet you became great at it.
I tried Sims 3 once. I think I even posted about it on this very topic forever ago as "Cin Vhetin", which is my other name here.
I hate the graphics in Sims 3, I can't get used to look at my sims faces and only see pillows everywhere. Their tools for making faces seem to be just circles and spheres, I hate the lack of angles! Maybe I didn't play with the options enough, I don't know, lol. Call me "resistant to change" if you will, lol, I am. In this case, totally.
The only positive points I found for sim-making is the option of making wider faces and various body sizes. It's really the single good point that I found Sims 3 has over Sims 2. With Sims 2, wide faces are a hell to make, lol. I tried to make Jack Nicholson, then 2 american actors starring in CSI-NY, all with wide heads and faces, and they are all near-impossible to make without some really deforming serious edits.
I don't play very much anyway, I rather create stuff. It's easier for Sims 2 than for Sims 3, even if only because I already know how to make content for Sims 2. I hate the in-game editable textures in Sims 3. Most of their textures are too uniform and all the same. It is not graphically as flexible and interesting as it is in Sims 2 if you make your own textures.
I am really having a lot of fun creating Sims 2 stuff right now. I have bubbling inspiration! I seem to "eureka" faster than I can create, lol. As long as this will be, I think I will just follow my gut feeling and keep the groove going.
I am glad that you passed by, though. I had missed talking to you!
