Later in the day
I'm walking down te street. I look across the street. There's a cafe there called Lola's Cafe. 2 police men move forward and behind me. They both have shotguns.
"We're going to neded to see if you're a mutant so pull down your hood." one of them says.
I do nothing. He reaches for my hood. I allow my flames to come out. My whole body is engulfed in flames. My coat burns but my regular clothes don't because they're fire-proof. He moves backward and aims. I grab the barrel and slam it into his face. He instantly goes unconscious. I spin around and smash the other guy in the face with it. He goes unconscious too. I see another down the street. I throw the gun at him. It hits him in the face, and he goes unconscious.
This all happens in the span of a minute

The man made it to the door first and threw himself threw one of the windows, in a desprate attemt to get away. The man made it just before a bug swooped down, and then darted away. Appearing to be just a blur. The woman wasnt so lucky. Just before she reached the door, a blur came from the roof catching her up and away, before anyone could move. There was blood curiling scream, and then a sickening crunching sound.

Then everyone panicked.

While Noah was indeed impressed by the robot, he did have one concern.

"Bill..." He said to the scientist, taking him aside. "Like you said, I did see 'that one movie', and frankly I didn't like how it turned out. What's to keep this thing from killing humans if it feels the need?"

"Defense parameters hardwired into its brain. It immediately analyzes any all human beings in the immediate vicinity to see if they possess the mutant gene, and is only capable of killing a mutant. There are...I guess what can only be described as a subconscious urge not to kill humans programmed inside it." ((Revan, if you've got a prob with this, I'll edit.))

"Good. Don't wanna have to fight an army of mutants and robots at the same time."

"Commander." ATOne spoke suddenly. "I am detecting a large number of mutated humanoinds near our location, at a restaurant called 'Lola's Cafe.' Sensors estimate 6 mutant organisms in close proximity of eachother. Shall I ivestigate/terminate?"

"Not quite yet." Noah said, grabbing his walkie-talkie. "As impressive as you me and Squint would be together in the heat of battle, I don't like the sound of two-to-one odds, especially with muties. I'll call in some reinforcements, a tank or two, then we'll send them right back into hell."

Noah made the call.

Blackout took one look at the shattering window, and leaped for the dark corner of the room, draining the light from it as he did so.  He stuffed his face with some bread, chugged a cup of water, and then stood; his hunger sated for now.  His curiosity, however, had just been perked.  He had seen the bug, and then they moved, like a blur, and he had lost trak of them.  Right after that, the window had shattered.  He checked to see if his blades were loose enough in their scabbards, and stalked out from the corner, carefully aproaching the window.  It didn't matter if he was spotted now; everyone was panicking anyways, and the bugs were taking mst of the attention anyhow.

Adrian was up and had his M4A1 out fast.  He began mowing down the bugs that came in the window.  They were oddly resilient.  Adrian sighed.

"See if you can stand up to this!"

He grabbed one of the bugs by the face.  He felt the soul of the bug leave the body as it flowed into his hands.  The eyes changed from their vibrant buggy green to a dull grey.  The skin whithered and shrank losing its color and becoming an ashen grey.  Ahh.  Much better.  Spotting a darting bug he clothes-lined it and slammed it to the grund, pulling out a K-Bar out of his shoe pocket and gutting the thing.  Releasing blasts into fray of bugs he saw several go down.  One of the bugs punched him.  Abosrbing all kinetic energy he released it back packing much more of a punch.  This was the most fun he's had in ages.  He looked over to Flip who was hurling forks and knives at the bugs and nailing him in the forehead.  Skyler seemed to be holding her own but she was lacking weapons.

"Hey Skyler catch!"

He tssed a small side arm of his to her which she caught and immediately began firing.

They had taken the rooftops, they were safer. Upon reaching the general area they saw a group of bugs attacking a cafe. Abaddon pulled off the blind fold, he didnt exactly like the idea of missing something during this, and a bug might grab it. Arista looked over, and did a double take, she hadn't seen his eyes before. "Ok, here we go." Abaddon said, pulling the staff from his back and diving down into the fight. He swung quickly, cracking a bug in the face. One of them pounced on a running man impaling him with it's tail. A second later the man rose, his clothes hanging from him. Apparently these thing could change people. He spun around quickly, barely avoiding a jab from one of the creature's tails. There were other mutants here, this made it better, less work.

I get up and pick up my longsword.  The bugs screaming, I strike it and it dies. I see a stinger coming at me, dodge right then cut the stinger off. I run forward and stab my sword into it. I stab another in the back, get attacked by a stinger, let go of my sword and dodge. A few stingers attack me and i flip around a bug. I grab it's shoulder and the stingers go into it. After a few seconds I see it's back cracking. A few seconds later the stingers come through.
That could've been me, i'm gunna have to be a bit more careful, I think.
I move around the bug and kill all the bugs who's stinger attacked me with my fire. I run for my sword and pull it out of the dead bug's back. Then I see that the bugs are pushing me toward the cafe.
"You bugs are persistent aren't you?" I say.

John could see the fight at the café down the street.  He stopped his car and watched for a moment. Why are you all fighting a brother mutant?? His sharp eye’s scanned the area and saw the mauled and lifeless body of............ is that a woman?  Hard to tell now on the sidewalk near the ally exit.  Though he felt in dishonorable to kill a woman unless she made herself part of the conflict, even a human one, he couldn’t imagine why so many mutants had decided to fight their brother’s over it. She’s human.......... what do you think she wanted for you? An even more brutal end if she had her way, no doubt.

He considered joining the fray, but which side to choose? No, back to my business.  There is no side to be taken for me when it’s mutant against mutant............... my war is with the humans. This will further serve to distract the guards and police away from me.

Shifting back into gear, John sped off to the next bank on his list

*hmmmmmmm. . . . been doing some re-reading.  I think this 'pitched battle' has gotten out of hand.  Mandal clearly said:

So unless I missed something, you all have been killing a lot of bugs that don't exist.  Just trying to keep the story strait.  If I did miss something, sorry for the interuption.*

They had dwindled to bug poplation quite a bit, Abaddon didnt know how many there were at first, but apparently they had changed plenty of the cafe's patrons. One of them paused, and turned, making a loud chittering sound. Unanamously the others fled their fights, jumping onto rooftops and fleeing. Abaddon was unsure if it was a feint, he stopped, holding his staff, slightly crouched ready for the things to come back.
