Topic: Celebration IV Incident
Well, to answer your question Aaron...No, It was not a fire alarm. See, it alll started when we got in line for the Opening Ceremony, we got in line at around 7:10 PM...By then, a line of about 6,000+ People were there. (It was wrapped halfway around the L.A. Convention Center) So the line moves very slowly as they let us in, in segments. We finally get to the line that goes into the door...And they cut it off 14 people in front of us. No joke. So by then, I'm pretty aggravated...But it's not over yet. They then say that there are too many people in the building and the LAPD on behalf of the fire marshall has requested that we (24,000 people) Had to evacuate. They Lied. The Police said they knew nothing of it; they were there due to a suspicious bag (Yes, even luggage can be that way) that was left on the curb against the wall ACROSS from the south parking lot. So, then, before we knew what was going on, they made everyone go outside. EVERYONE EXEPT THE 6,000 PEOPLE THAT WERE ALREADY IN THE AUDITORIUM!!! The cops kick us all onto the curb across the street. Mind you, I'm talkin' about 24,000 people...And it's 59 friggin degrees outside. Oh, did I mention that it's a comfortable 77 degrees in the opening ceremony room? And they were eating cake! So we are standing outside for 2 hours freezing. (ALOT of people wore shorts) Then we find out after that, there was nothing explosive or dangerous in the bag, and it was a false alarm. Around 1,000 of the people were wearing a costume of somesort, and were uncomfortable. So, after that, all they will let us do is go to our car and leave.
And that, is the rest of the story.
