No, Jango wasn't buried in his armor, in Fight to Survive Boba hid the armor on a cave, and it was on Geonosis. So how the chef guy got the armor I have no idea. I know the only peice Boba actually kept out was the helmet. But I remember the chef guy saying he resized some amor. Now I have to go look it up, lol.
Ah here it is. Book 5: A New Threat: Page 25.
Boba walks into his room at Jabba's Palace, sees his helmet on his bed, which was odd since he had left it on Slave I. Then he sees an armor suit, at first he thinks it might be Jango's, but Jango's was still too big for him, and this armor was small. So he inspected it further and found little marks of indentification (such as a little dent on the chest armor that he knew had come from someone who had shot at Jango). Then he realized, "It was Jango's body armor!"
Page 26:
Boba then tries it on. It fit nicely. It specifically mentions that the boots are his father's, though I'm not sure why. Then the girl, Ygabba, and the chef, Gab'borah, come to Boba's room. Ygabba is delighted that the armor fits. Boba questions her.
Page 27:
Ygabba says she and her dad did it, and that's why they were so interested in how tall Boba was. Ygabba asks Boba if he would be upset that she had gone into Slave I and gotten the armor for that purpose.
Though why she has free entry to Slave I, I don't know. I also don't know how they could resize it on just how tall he is. Height says nothing about the width of shoulders or hips, length of arms or legs, length or width of chest/stomach.
Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.
