I do enjoy having Aurra Sing in these episodes and the addition of Boba Fett as a recurring character is awesome but I fear it'll lead to an awkward breakdown of the character. In a single appearance they've set up Sing as Boba's mentor with what seems to me as inexplicable.
The shadowed Trandoshan on the Slave 1 is could be Bossk, if that is a Trandoshan. But given his rivalry with Fett later on, I''m not sure why it would be Bossk, since that would retcon the Trandoshan not knowing about Fett at all.
Maybe it's better explained then what I saw but I haven't been watching this show on a regular basis. 3D animation has always seemed to me to be lackluster.
My real complaint is that Boba has a full head of hair. I know it allows children to better recognize him but none of the other cadets seem to have a full head of hair with a couple of exceptions. I'd think someone would have at least been suspicious. Thankfully it's a kid show, didn't have to expect too much from it.
I liked it more than I thought I would.
SPOILER ALERT
It did seem a little unrealistic to have a kid single-handedly destroy a Republic Cruiser though
SOILER END.
Umm....When it comes to the potential danger of Boba Fett, whether it be infant, kid, teenager or man, the possibilities are indefinite. I have been anticipating this event for as long as this program has been just a rumor whispered among the BFFC boards. This episode portrayed young Boba's extraordinary skills compared to that of any other original clone cadet, and displayed his obvious emotional and moral indifference to any other clone. This episode also explains Boba's huge advantage against those in the Republic due to his exact resemblance to every young clone in the Republic army. My personal favorite line in this episode was during Boba' defiance against a clone that was dumb enough to simply hand a DC-17 to a young cadet............"...Your not my brother...." It sent chills of the infamous Boba Fett and his well known charecter in one simple glare and sentence. Aurra Sing's performance in this episode was really on point and accurate to my personal opinion to her charecter........."They're witnesses, honey..." it really implies something about her spunkyness and her relationship with young Boba. Young Boba's decisions were also primitive compared to his decisions that he would usually make as a man. You could see the hesitation in him. This is simply his development from a child to a man. All in all this episode was completely awesome! I cant wait to see the next one!
PS: Since these episodes are the OFFICIAL history recordings of young Boba, what is to be of the Boba Fett childrens books novel series? Are they to be non-canon now?
TW
so according to the clone wars cartoon, Boba blows up his own father's helmet in order to try and kill Mace Windu
interesting
that solidifies the canon of an un-dented Fett fighting Vader in "Enemy of The Empire" even more!

The books take place before the series, they happen directly after "Attack of The Clones". That's why Boba is still hanging out with Aura Sing in the cartoon.
This is true......but since young Boba supposively blows up his father's helmet in an attempt to obliterate Mace Windu, then the children's novel series cannot be canon because in the children's novels, young Boba paints his father's helmet green and red on a moon during a close encounter with Anakin Skywalker........therefore, how could his father's helmet still exist blue and silver?? Not to mention Young Boba's confrontation with Mace Windu during the children's novel series, is that to be discarded, forgotten, and not mentioned in the Clone Wars series?? Or is it to be Canon and recognized??
so many questions for an obsessed Fett fan! lol
TW
hmm, simple, he gets another helmet and makes it his own. my guess would be Mace just didn't tell anyone about Boba until the time was ripe. also, speaking of confrontations between the two, it was originally planned that Boba would have killed Mace Windu when he managed to survive the fall from Palpatine's office in ROTS
sadly anything visual replaces anything print
That statement is unfortunately true mccoy.
TW
If i'm right... That's the one that my cousin watched and told me never to pick up an unknown helmet... it could blow me up...
LOL it's funny what young kids pick up.
I did enjoy this episode and the following two, but did find it annoying that both Bossk and Anakin know who Boba is - it means Vader knows exactly who is under the helmet and Bossk (if he has any sense) would also.
I loved Boba showing his skill on the laser cannon - kick butt boy!
I also liked in the last episode that Boba is reminded of his father's honor and code - something Sing is seriously lacking.
Thanks for linking the episode summary and I've watched the clone wars again this morning. It brings back old memories where watching the series brings you thrills and chills.
Death Trap” is an episode that works as far as introducing Boba Fett as a character in The Clone Wars series. But there’s not enough to the story to carry the entire installment
“Death Trap” is an episode that feels more like a setup than a self-contained story. It’s certainly got enough action and intrigue. But without a story that provides any real levels of depth, this manages to be an exercise in exposition. The result is a decent, if somewhat unremarkable, installment of The Clone Wars.
