((Hey closgamble, you were just beaten down by my character Fenrir. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough. You really should edit.))
(( I can help you out if you want it, Clos. M'Lure would be very satisfied if you were to give a solid reason to not kill you.))
Anasazi turned to Dusk, who had just asked a very good question.
"Where is Oni? Why I thought you would never ask." Anasazi replied with a smirk. "See, if you head out into the city and visit the graveyard on Central Park East, you'll see a tombstone for Aleksander Uy."
"Say, I remember that name. 5 years ago, during that bedlam at the bar, Oni said his name was..." Jack interuppted, remembering the chaos from the night so long ago.
"Very good, Jack, seemse you really are capable of coherent thought."
"Not by choice, Asalamo-alakim."
"It's Anasazi." Corrected the supervillain.
"So Oni's six-feet under? Then who exactly are you?" Dusk asked, trying to fit together all the pieces of the Anasazi puzzle.
"Well, in our line of work..." Anasazi began, but as he spoke, he took one hand and began to peel away the skin near where Jack's grenade had revealed his metal exterior. He kept peeling, revealing more metal.
"...people rarely ever..." more peeling skin, Anasazi was working his way to his forehead.
"...know how..." Mr. Anasazi had now peeled away a good portion of his skin, and roughly 75 % percent of his was now visibly metal, except for his cranium, which had a very visible human brain suspended in a clear tank filled with some sort of brain juice.
"...To stay dead." He finally finished his drawn out sentence. In their line of work, people rarely ever know how to stay dead.
"So it is you!" Jack yelled excitedly. "Long time no see, man! Where ya been?"
"He's been hiding with me, running around like a bat outta hell blowing up all those buildings!" Alastor interrupted.
"Thank you, Alastor, because no one would have ever been able to figure it out." Anasazi stated sarcastically.
"So you're really Oni in there, huh?" Dusk asked.
"Yes, and I'd like some royalties, please."
((My post took care of Cpt. Continuity, hes in la la land...))
"Ouch. Hey, it's only fair to say, I'm not getting paid for this suit. And it wasn't my choice to have to rely on it. I invented it with my own ideas and tech...truth be told, I forgot all about Oni, er, Ronin, er, Anasazi. Whatever you go by today. 'Sides, what would you want cash for anyways? Looks like your sitting pretty."
He was cut off from any further statements by the appearance of someone he knew very well. His brother.
"If it's money you need, Anasazi, I can gladly provide." Terry, formerly known as Voidhunter, held up a two-week old newspaper clipping, stating that their uncle had left them an estate in his will, along with a sizable fortune, to be claimed when they were "sane of mind". Terry, having gotten to it first, laid claim to it, as evidenced, and cheated Dusk out of some much needed finances. Dusk also saw that he was offering the money to help fund a madman's schemes. Lovely.
"Really..." Anasazi was intrigued by the man offering to help finance his...philanthropic activities. "Why I must say I'm fairly surprised. I haven't someone new join my ranks since that little weasel Gerrrx and frankly I don't enjoy laying claim to him."
"He's a cool dude and you know it!" Alastor snapped.
"Ah, yes, Alastor hates it when you bad mouth his friends. Try and remember that when you're cavorting about with us mister..." Anasazi examined the man with the newspaper clipping. "...I know you...VOIDHUNTER!!! You sly dog! I always admired your skill and panache back in the day. Tell me, why are you so...fleshy-colored? I recall you being a bit more...murky in complexion."
"...What?" The former Voidhunter didn't seem to remember his days of debauchery and crime.
It seemed that Desdemona had been forgotten as she stood back and watched the unveiling of Mr Anasazi. The villain was so busy with his monologue to Jack that he seemed to have forgotten that she was also there. But then Desdemona had bothered fighting, she’d been studying. If another fight was to break out she would assist Jack.
Desdemona shifted slighted and slowly reached out her fingers to touch the smooth side of his lower right arm. Jack looked over his shoulder and gave her a wink, it seemed that he had not forgotten that she was there.
The mention of Voidhunter made Desdemona stand a little straighter, “Voidhunter is no more,†she said and watched as the others seemed to remember that she was there.
Jack slapped his forehead. "That's exactly what we need. Unlocking the memories of a homicidal maniac."
Dusk shot him a look. Jack shrugged. But he looked around as the sirens stopped.
"Listen guys. Chromium must be sending some goons here. We need to get out of here."
"All right. Where to Jack?"
"Oh I was thinking, I dunno, Happy Harry's." Jack smiled.
"What? The place was demolished."
"The government set it up as a tourist attraction. It still is an operational bar though."
((Let me know if you had other plans.))
A wicked smile crossed Vandal's face when she found Jericho but something was niggling at her telepathy and it had nothing to do with the thug before her. "Ah crap," Vandal said stepping back, "seems there's something else I should be doing."
Jericho looked extremely surprised. "What? No slash, slash, kill, kill?"
"Not today, baby." Vandal said sarcastically as she ran.
Vandal found Haze and Chromium on her way. "We're going to Happy Harry's."
"What?" Haze said, "I didn't think it still existed."
Chromium pulled the two women to a halt, "Why are we going there?"
"It seems Mr Anasazi is Oni, I read Jack's mind. They're going there." Vandal pointed out.
"Oni? I thought he'd disappeared but then it would explain why both Jericho and Flame are back." Haze said as she put the pieces together. "So let me guess, it's Oni that is behind the destruction of the monuments."
"More than likely," Chromium said seeming almost annoyed.
"So are we going to Happy Harry's?" Vandal asked.
"Man," Anasazi said as he, Alastor and the man formerly known as Voidhunter stood outside Andromeda, having found Jericho's car. "I can't believe that worked. I knew these cloakers I made were good, but dang, all three of us sneaking out undetected. Now that's a great escape."
"Yeah, just wonderful." Alastor snapped. "So what now?"
"Well, we do need to find Jericho..." Anasazi retrieved a cell phone from a pocket in his suit that hand't been blown up.
"...Jericho, it's Anasazi. Yeah, we're out here in the parking lot, just jump out a window or something, we'll catch you. ...What? No, just....well, we'll be waiting." Anasazi hung up.
"He'll be out shortly." Anasazi said to his partners in crime.
The three stood there next to the Charger, waiting patiently.
...
...
...
"Hey, wait a minute...?!?" Anasazi called out suddenly, noticing something in the distance. "Is that... Oh, no...Oh, no no no..." Anasazi suddenly jumped into the driver's seat of the Charger.
"Alastor!" He barked. "Hotwire this puppy!"
"Right away, boss man!" Alastor said, sending some bolts of lightning into the car, causing it to start up sans keys.
"You! Hop in!" Anasazi shouted at Terry. Terry did so, surprised by Anasazi's animosity.
In the distance of Mission City, Mr.Anasazi saw a bar where a demolished crater should have been.
Those #$%^&^'s rebuilt it... He thought. Why did they rebuild Double-H's?!?
"Vandal just can't make up her mind, can she..." Jericho muttered. "Why, no, she can't. One minute she is hunting you down wanting to gut you like a fish, and the next says somethin' cute...'Not today baby'...This is getting a bit ridiculo-" Jericho walked out of the parking garage at ground level, but then suddenly heard the distinct engine crank and sudden roar of what could only be his Supercharged 440. "AnaSAZI!" He would have to time this one perfectly, Jericho quickly calculated the acceleration of the Charger vs. his own running speed and came up with a point of meeting. He sprinted as fast as he could to where he estimated they would collide, making a jump for it. "This is gonna be close..." Jericho soared through the driver's side window and landed across both Anasazi and Alastor's laps, ankles hanging out the window.
"...agh...ow..." Jericho groaned. "I think I've broken something..." He pulled a large bar of white chocolate out of his coat pocket. "Aww..."
((Just though I'd add something completely random and unexpected. ))
Anasazi just sort of stared at Jericho. Alastor stared too, though he was bit angrier. Terry was the definition of bewildered.
"...Uh...Jericho, please get out of my lap. I'm sure you'd agree this is a very uncomfortable position for both of us." Anasazi said to his partner, who's upper body was draped across his groin.
"...Right."Jerciho moved to the back next to Terry, nibbling on the broken chocolate bar. "...And you are?"
"Oh, that's Voi--Terry, his name's Terry. He's got some substantial money so I decided to bring him along. ...And he's also kind of Voidhunter."
"Why's he so...not shadow-y?" Jericho asked.
"Why do you people keep calling that? Who's Voidhunter?" Terry exclaimed, clearly confused by all the madness going on.
"Boy, those Andromed!#ks really did a job on you, huh?" Anasazi said to Terry. "Anyway, Jericho, you're not gonna believe it, but they rebuilt Happy Harry's."
"Wasn't that place demolished?"
"Yeah, and it was supposed to stay that way. Of all the unholy, unsacred things they could have done, they had to rebuild it. Couldn't just leave the smoking warzone alone. I mean, it would be one thing if they built something else there, like a bowling alley or a Hooter's, but to build ANOTHER bar...not even CHANGE THE NAME...we're getting to the bottom of this."
Jack was chit-chatting the Anasazi when all of a sudden he flickered. Wait what?
"Ghost! Anasazi's a ghost! Where's Whoopi Goldberg and Patrick Swayze when you need 'em?"
Desdemona blinked obviously not understanding the little quip. But she moved to Anasazi observing him.
"Hey lady back off. I need some space."
Without a word Desdemona's hand began glowing as she shoved her hand into the midsection of Anasazi. The hologram wavered and dissappeared. As did Terry's and Alastor's.
"DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUNNNNNN! The plot thickens!"
Dusk shook his head. "Same old Jack."
Desdemona spoke, "I think we need to get to Happy Harry's Bar."
"Good idea! I am quite thirsty. A root beer would be good. Lead on Desdemona!"
As they made their way to ground floor they bumped into Vandal who was coming up to see them.
"Vandal! Just the super I wanted to see. You see I was kind of talking with-"
"Anasazi."
"Right. And right now I think he's going to-"
"Happy Harry's."
"Woah. She's good. It must be terrible playing I spy against you."
(Clos...you gonna be in this RPG...please stick to the continuity...quit picking on my character...its getting old, boy...)
Terry was confused. Who was this "Voidhunter" they were talking about? nd what was with Happy Harry's? It had always been around. Why did they act as if it should be a molten pile of slag. He was so in over his head.
-----
Dusk mentally kicked himself, as soon as the holograms were discovered. If Anasazi was Oni, then there was no doubt that a trick like this was in his reperatoire. He turned and engaged his boot-thrusters, zipping past the running heroes. Happy Harry's, eh? He remembered the place. Not likely to forget it, either. He had to figure out what was going on with all of this demolishing world wonders madness. And nothing was going to stand in his way.
----
Burnout also raced past the group. With his speed, he outdistanced even Dusk, and pushed himself to the limit, making the trek to Happy Harry's in less than two minutes, accidentally causing a sonic boom upon his halting, blowing out the nearby windows. He winced. Why did that always have to happen?
He sighed, and looked around. Nothing too fantastic. Why then, was everyone so hyped up about it? He didn't get it. Ah well. Jack thought the baddies were going here, then that was good enough for him. Jack may seem insane, but he seemed to know more about what was going on than anyone else. Which was what Burnout needed at the moment. So he hunkered down in the shadows beside the bar, and began to wait.
Harthorne was confused he woundered why the men who had taken him captive had Knocked him out a second time.He tried to reason with lightshow and ask for his help against the agents from the C.M.A. Harthorne was there top agent, and for him to be captured so easily was a mistery. He knew that they were going to send one of there top agents and college of Hathorne's after him, Ravagewas his name. His dual pyco broad swords were going to cut through Harthorne. He was probably going to be informed on how to defeat Harthone, there is only one way, which is to take off Harthorne head.
Harthorne need to seek to his kidnappers and get them to let him join them, because going back to the C.M.A was not something Harthorne wanted to do because he would be killed if he did.
((Wow, I didn't hardly understand that post at all. You need to edit or something...))
((okay read it now in a rush writing in school libary and they will not stop bugging me if I'm not doing school work))
(I'm still a tad confused Clos.? Lightshow is actually the least of Hawthornes concern as he answers to M'Lure at this stage of the plot. Try and think of something, perhaps information, to say to her so that Hawthorne doesn't incurr anymore of her wrath. I have some stuff I would like my group to do and I would rather we all be working towards that. Thanks!)
(I think clos is trying to get Lightshow to convince M'lure & co. to help him deal with these CMA guys...i dont think we should introduce any more plot devices...lets get on with the current story shall we?)
(Thats kinda what I'd like. Well said V_M )
(( So then let Harthorne free and give him back his weapons ))
((Dude. That is unrealistic and would never happen. He just attacked some of their members. You need to have Harthorne talk to M'Lure for that to happen.))
(yup )
Dusk didn't think Happy Harry's looked all that bad. Considering that, well, it should have been a crater. He wondered who the owner was for this one. Oh well. It wasn't his business. He saw Burnout plying tic-tac-toe in the dust at super-speed, a sight that caused him to laugh quietly.
"What are you waiting for?"
"Some particular slow heroes. You know, when they ever decide to arrive." Burnout was smiling widely.
"Would you feel better doing something? Such as, I dunno, searching out the area?"
Burnout shrugged, and stood. "I can get that all done in, say, thirty seconds, if I really wanted to take my time."
And then he was off in an orange and silver shot, leaving Dusk to take his former place, waiting for the others to arrive.
