Kennedy cursed under his breath as a lady took out two of his men. Give them a bit and they'll be right as rain. A few Red Coats came into the street with Blunderbuss drawn.
"Fire!"
Kennedy was knocked off of his feet into a wall. He pushed himself up a took out one with a flintlock. The others were hastily reloading their guns. Plenty time for James to take out his hatchet and cleave into the man's skull. Down to 2. They both took out their swords and rushed him. Kennedy backpedaled as they came upon him. But being Red Coats they couldn't quite work as a team. When one hesitated as his comrade was in the way Kennedy took the time to run him through. Seeing his friend with a sword out of his midsection the other turned and ran in terror.
"Typical English."
Kennedy rounded the next corner and saw a bar. As it was covered he appeared to be a normal human. Strolling inside he saw some dirty looking characters sitting in the corner drinking. Throwing his hatchet he got one of them in the arm. The others got out of their seats and made their way to him. Sighing he stepped into the moonlight coming from one of the windows and they beheld him in his true form. All the other patrons turned tail and ran leaving the bar maid and the injured pirate to fend for themselves. Kennedy stepped forward to finish the straggler off.
Obviously this barmaid wasn't completely helpless. Before anyone could blink a knife was whizzing through the air impaling itself where Kennedy's heart should have been. But as most of the Cursed, he had removed his long ago.
He smiled a toothy grin. "Good try lass. But your luck has just ran out." He calmly walked over to the man with the hatchet in his arm.
"P-p-please sir. I have a family. Kids. 2 daughters and a wife. Without me they cannot survive! Please spare me!"
Kennedy regarded him grimly. "All joys in life are temporary." The man could only stare at the sword in his chest. After a bit he slumped forward, all life drained from his body. Kennedy took a cloth from a table and wiped his hatchet and sword clean.
"So you are going to kill me too? I am not afraid to die."
"What is your name?"
"Mary."
Kennedy turned to Mary. "There are fates worse than death." He turned and smashed her over her head with the flat of his hatchet. She fell to the floor out cold. Two of his men stormed into the entrance adorned with gold and jewels.
"Lookit what we found. It shines eh?"
"Marx. Finnigan. Take this her lady back to the ship. Why let a pretty face go to waste eh?"
The other two laughed. Grabbing Mary, they began fighting over who should carry her. Kennedy ignored them and travelled to the basement. Something caught his interest. Barrels marked stash. He made his way over to one and lifted the lid. Inside was a fine, white powder. He picked a little pit up and inhaled. Snuff. This would fetch a fine price on the market. He climbed back up the stairs and saw Finnigan and Marx still fighting.
"Quiet! Both of you. There are some barrels down there marked 'Stash'. Bring all of them back to the ship."
"What about the pretty lady?"
"I will take her." Both of their faces visibly fell as they shuffled downstairs. He slung Mary over his shoulder and headed back to The Harbrynger. Once aboard he made his way to the cells and threw her in. This was a very good pillage indeed.
