It is easy to get them mixed up...they're soo much alike.

I am in firm belief that Sev is alive.  Hopefully KT will have him survive in the next RC book.  If not she'll have some kaden fans after her I'll tell you.  But I see where you are coming from when you hate noobs with the AA attachment.  In CoD4 we got many people with the "noob tube" aka M203 rocket launcher prancing around.  It annoys.

Yeah, I hate the noob tube, too.  But it's always a great equalizer.  Especially when you're playing a clan that does nothing but camp.  That's the quickest way to root them all out.  Camping may be a legitimate strategy, but it's really lame.  No skill required.  Know what I mean?

I personally like the basic Deece.  I love that high rate of fire you can put on a target.  Doesn't take as long to take the droids out if you shoot them in the head, either.  Except for the Super Battle Droids.  It's not very effective against them.  Best to hit them with a ion grenade first and let them have it while they're stunned.  Rinse, and repeat.   wink   Although, that Wookiee rocket launcher sure got the job done.

I like the way the game lets you control the squad a lot easier.  It always reminded me like a cross between Dark Forces and Rainbow Six (because you get a 4-man squad).  I never cared much for how Rainbow Six lets you control your squad mates.  It's similar, but just seems more fluid on Republic Commando.  Now, if they had a voice command recognition for your squad mates, like they did for Rainbow Six, that would have been really sweet.  The actual gameplay reminded me alot of Brothers in Arms--great actual gameplay, but the online multiplayer was weak.  Either because not enough people played it in multiplayer or what, but the multiplayer aspect of it just wasn't up to par, I think.  Maybe better maps?

Yeah, you do move a lot faster when you're doing multiplayer.  I noticed when you switch to your pistol you really can truck a lot faster than with your rifle, but when you switch back to you rifle you slow down pretty quick.  That helped crossing distances pretty quick, if you spawn on the other side of the map or something.  But if you run into an enemy while you're running back, you're pretty much hosed becasue they outgun you, before you can switch back.

huh--hadn't tried that, but i think someone had mentioned it online. its kinda weird, but makes sense, suppose. Regardless, it makes it hard to keep your aim on people

Moving fast is the name of the game on multiplayer. A person can't kill you before you change weapons...unless you happen to turn a corner and they have a shotgun to your head. Especially if you have a scroll button on your mouse...changing weapons is cake. Multiplayer can be annoying the first couple of times you play it, but once you get the hang of it and get sorta good at it...it rocks! There are plenty of people playing it...there's maps with 30-40 people in them, which is plenty for the maps provided. By the way, private message me if you want to get a multiplayer game together... TheCloner already buzzed me and we're planning on getting a game together sometime soon... Teaming up and playing multiplayer with other Fett fans will rock if we can get it together!

lol--just good like that.....jk. yeah. But Scorch blows crap up, Sev blows people heads off, and you play as Boss. Fixer just, does computer stuff. whatever that means. but he was cool, at times. And he's a commando, which automatically makes him better than, like, almost everyone. ever. anywhere.

He lacks a sense of humor... I don't remember him laughing much with the other commandos in the game. He seems to me somewhat of a "goody goody" and stricto ratter...if ya catch my drift. He follows everything by the manual and any creative or inventive methods he's quick to scoff at 'em. He reminds me of one of those people who needs to loosen up and take a chill pill... the friend that when he's around, everything gets quiet and things aren't as fun anymore. Anyone agree with me? (btw, we are talking about Fixer)

Re: Republic Commando (PC) Fans - Discussion Thread

I think both of them did something like that.

Nothing's wrong with Fixer, he's a pure and uncomplicated soldier, he's the second-in-command of your squad and he aims better than Scorch!

I hope Sev didn't die, he aims even better than Fixer.

Yes, I think thats why he's my least favorite of the squad. He's "pure and uncomplicated"... One big thing about the others is that they have their own little quirk. I absolutely love Sevs attitude...that dull humor that cracks jokes his killing spree. Scorch is the goofball that loves to see the fireworks and blow it all to oblivion. Boss brings a little bit of each of these in a combo that brings the squad together. And Fixer.... he's just there... I find it hard to describe him or to relate to him. Maybe thats why I view him like I do...

Re: Republic Commando (PC) Fans - Discussion Thread

But Fixer still is the second-in-command and he still aims better than Scorch. And the campaign would be boring if Fixer wasn't there. Of course the campaign would also be boring if Scorch or Sev wasn't there. It's the whole squad that makes the campaign fun, really.

And another reason why Fixer should be noticed is that in the Republic ghost ship mission, Sev and Scorch didn't make it, while Fixer actually saved you. Well, at least he saved me...

First they just make angry or surprised comments, but soon they cut contact with you, Niner becomes the boss (I think) and they start shooting you. I don't know what happens if you kill all of them and do the mission alone, though. I loaded an earlier save.

I don't think its possible to kill them all then finish the mission alone. When you get the the arrows (the end of a level), if you don't have all of your squad members alive, it won't let you pass and finish the level. I also don't think its possible to kill all of your squad mates before they kill you... unless you were some uber-commando...lol

Well of course parts of certain levels you need your teammates, but then you just go back and revive them.

And its not that hard to kill you team mates: Just snipe em in the head or use the vibro-blade.

Re: Republic Commando (PC) Fans - Discussion Thread

Fixer is the only one (besides Boss) that doesnt get jumped on by a trando, or get screwed by a scav droid during the RAS mission, which in my mind makes him slightly better then the rest becasue he can rely on himself. The other commandos have a tough time staying alive when seperated.

And another reason I like Fixer is because if he wasnt the way he is, and instead like Scorch or Sev the whole sqaud would be goofing around and thered by noone to say "cut the chatter". In other words he balances the squad out. (And not to mention when he was strangling that Geo during the first part of the game, he seemed pretty cool)

Sev got ambushed by a trandoshan, if you don't remember, and you lost contact with Scorch and Fixer and later found out that Scorch got captured after finishing his mission.
Fixer saved you.
You know the part when you are alone and a droid dispenser shows up in your way. That is when Fixer comes, if I remember correctly, he sliced through a door and came to help you. And for me, I was in a really bad situation there when Fixer showed up. With Fixer's help I took care of the droid dispenser and managed to survive and move on. In other words: Fixer saved me.

In that level, Fixer and Boss were the only ones who completed their missions without getting killed or captured.

In the game, the only thing I remember from Fixer being the second-in-command was that when I tried betraying the squad, Fixer was the one who started shouting "Shoot him!" and acted like he was the boss.
In the books, I am absolutely sure I read about Fixer being Delta Squad's second-in-command. Vau probably said it.

Mandal_ShadowWarrior said almost everything I like about Fixer. His close quarter combat moves (with his vibroblade) are really cool. And otherwise, he's there to help out Boss. And, I'm not sure, but wasn't Fixer the one who got excited about the AT-TE in the Republic assault ship mission?
