I would love to learn guitar and piano...
It's been years, but kinda like riding a bike: the main instrument I played was clarinet. I also played viola and tuba. I barely started to learn a bit of bari-sax and got a few notes from a trombone too. It's been a long time.

Would you get the Gibson or Epiphone Les Paul? But honestly unless you really invest most Fenders aren't that good. I just need an electric. PLaying stuff like Back in Black, Thunderstruck, Ironman, Smoke on the Water, just don't quite compare to the overdrive of the electric.

Why get a Gibson when you can get an Orville Les Paul.
Orvilles were made by Gibson, but the stopped making Orvilles because they got to be better than Gibsons.

I got my Squier Strat today. It is sweet. Things like Back in Black sound really cool now. Secondly, my mother volunteered me to play Taps over the PA at school for our Remembrance (aka Veterans) Day. So nervous. In fact for the High G, I was shaking so bad it sounded like Vibrato.tongue

Carry on Wayward Son isn't on Guitar Hero 3 it's on Guitar Hero 2.

If you want to be a guitar hero pick up a real six string guitar and learn how to play it.
And this topic is about playing a REAL instrument. Not a plastic guitar controller.

my xmas concert is a week from this upcoming Wednesday. in the meantime, at the 9-10 grade concert, a couple of ppls in our band (the 11-12 grade band) will do a brass ensemble, in which we sightread and play xmas music until the show starts. i did it last year too.

Oh sightreading never goes well in our band. Except for Phantom of the Opera. But for our Christmas concert we have this song and it's a specifaclly band arranged arrangement of Christmas carols. And I get 2nd Trumpet. But I want 1st. ANd we are playing CHarlie Brown Christmas and I get 1st. Which means a solo. It is fun.
