Just because I don't like the idea of Superman doesn't mean I don't stand for truth or justice. Justice is everything.
In fact my motto is "Laws change, but Justice is Justice"

An the fact that Superman is "ideal" is the whole reason why I dislike him.
You buy a Spider-Man comic and you (usually) get an average guy doing is very best to stop people hell bent on destroying freedom. No matter who or what he is fighting there is always the chance that if it would kill a normal human, it would kill Spider-Man. You see his pain. you see him bleed, you see him fail. Thats why Spider-Man is one of the best Comic characterfs.

Superman does not have to worry about being seriously injured. His weakness is fairly easily identifiable to him, and seeing as he has X-Ray vision he can always see if someone's concealing it. So he died once? Big deal, he was back a couple of months later. Generally speaking though, when you read a Superman comic, you can be fairly sure he'll have experienced things that would seriously injure, kill or just generally hurt a normal man or Spider-Man and yet he looks like he had led a life wrapped in cotton wool.

The other thing is...his secret identity. I wear glasses and I know for a fact that they slip down or fall off from time to time and yet very few people know that Clark Kent is Superman. And why does he need to keep a secret identity anyway? A less powerful superhero such as Spider-man had the balls to admit to the world, and all his enemies, who he really was, so why doesn't Superman?

A much more likely candidate for the role of someone to look up to being like is Spider-Man and not Superman.

I have never seen any Christ figures other than Christ himself, so let's just leave it at that.
