Don't worry, I'm shy about asking people that I like out too! Here is a suggestion. You catch her at her locker or what ever and go into a casual conversation then pop the question and think of happy thoughts. If for some reason she dumps such a nice guy like you, then the cure for that is to get a bowl of ice cream and watch all of the Star Wars movies and relax with some friends.

Try to ask her when she's by herself- something casual like going to Starbucks or an ice cream shop.
BTW, it's huge points for you if you ask her. It shows you at least care enough to stick your neck out.

Yeah I know how that feels when you are about to ask someone out. You get this knot in your throut and then you might start sweating and then all you can say is "umm...uhh...like...umm..." So on and so forth. It is scary asking someone.
