Sure--I would agree to that
What's up with that fold out thing at the top of his rifle stock, (the part that sticks out towards his arm)? I've never seen anything like that anywhere else, and I don't like it. It would get in the way, hindering speed and movement. It's certainly not on his gun in the show.
I'm always imagined Boba to look like Sam Neill (the original Damien Thorn (Omen), Jurassic Park, In The Mouth Of Madness, Event Horizon). Any thoughts on this?
Interesting... I always pictured him more like Lance Hendricksen (Bishop from Aliens).
The other noteworthy tidbit is from the short story "the Last One Standing: the Tale of Boba Fett" by Daniel Keys Moran from the compilation "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" where it retells the days of Boba Fett as a prisoner on trial for killing a superior officer in the Journeyman Protectors. Anyway, it mentions that he is "ugly" and later in life (if not younger as well) he definately had a beard of some sort.
hey guys, I'm a new member to the boards and just want to say "hello". I'm looking forward to spending some time here.
Cheers!
In what story did he have a beard? By the way, you usually do not need to describe a story that everyone here has read in such detail . Oh, and hello.
Hi, Oblivion. Welcome.
The man they described in Tales of the Bounty Hunters is actually Jaster Mereel, not Boba.
It is usually thought that he took the alias Jaster Mereel.

Hi, I know I am new here and all, but I am nowhere close to being a n00b when it comes to Star Wars or my favorite character, Boba Fett. I won't drop my "Star Wars geek" credentials right now, but suffice to say I am somewhat of an afficianado on the subject.
At the time that "Tales" was written, Jaster Mereel was intended as a young Boba Fett. He later changed his name and adopted a new identity when he became a bounty hunter (according to the story in "tales"). Of course GL ignored all backstories or previous info when he coped-out and made BF a clone.
I have read that book, I know. Most Fett fans agree that when Boba was in his mid-twenties or so, he took the alias of Jaster Mereel. I know that it was not original intended that way.
I don't see why Boba would suddenly stop bounty hunting, choose a planet, remove his mask, settle down, get a job.... It makes no sense and doesn't really fit into his character I think. Unless it was a massive undercover job to get to a certain bounty. I know in the New Guide to Characters it says some people think he is Jaster cause of the armor resemblance, and that Boba likes keeping his past in shadows (another good reason for not wanting to drop his life to expose himself to others) so he doesn't try to end that rumor. Which is another good point on why Boba was never a journyman protector, cause if he was he'd want to keep that part of himself a mystery, secret, in the shadows. So he'd try to end the rumors of him once being Jaster Mereel cause he wouldn't want anyone to find out.
Hmmn... This is the kind of stuff that I've hoped for at this sight. My conjecture on this is that Boba might have felt that it was a strong tactic to operate without his family name. It would relieve him of the heat that goes with being the surviving clone and heir to his father's legacy. But then, even after letting everything cool, he realized that his ship(s) themselves prevent him from being recognised by those that knew of Jango, so he returned. Perhaps there was too much heat on him at the time to operate safely. He has already faced a massive identity crisis psychologically, being an exact clone of another person, and having a multitude of near-Fetts in a pivotal role during his teen developement, so changing his identity might have been burning away at him since his father was killed.
Lance Hendricksen works, or how about a younger Lee Marvin, (kinda like white-haired Jeremy Bulloch, but way tougher, and the voice just as gravelly). I'd say that if Boba had a beard, it would be very short, just enough that he wouldn't get distracted by sweat burning under his helmet. (I live in Arizona, and keep such a beard during the summer for the same reasons.)
I am not all familar goings on the Star Wars stories and plots outside of the movies and what I read online.Basically I have not read any of the reading material(comics and novels) since "spliter of the minds eye".So forgive any background mistakes in my reply/oppinons.
Since Boba was a unaltered clone cell and his dna might not have been to tampered with. From what I know about making babies, would there not have to be a "egg" to accept Jangos sprem to create the clones.Would Boba not be created from two sets of DNA?
Could it be possible for Boba to have outgrown his dads look and slowly develop into his "mothers" looks or grow to have a combination of both?
I personnally like the fact that it is best not to known what exactly Boba looks like behide the Tvisor.A faceless Boba is the heart and soul to what creates each of ours imagination to who he is and what he is capable of doing and thinking.
From my understanding, the cloning process was just a direct replication of one set of DNA--no "mother" involved.
Lopero--I also like your statement about Boba " A faceless Boba is the heart and soul to what creates each of ours imagination to who he is and what he is capable of doing and thinking." nicely put.
Remember in AOTC the cloning chambers with the tons of babies in jars? The jars are the "egg". And I kinda thought they pricked Jango's finger and used a blood/cell/skin sample or something to get his dna.
They take a piece of DNA strand and copy it over and over agan until they have enough to create an actual being from it, this being grows according to the DNA. But in actuality, according to actual cloning done, some of the clones (around 5%) wouldn't look excactly like Jango due to small mutations, also none of them would actually gain anything other than physical traits from Jango. Because they have proven that if you cloned Mozart, the child who is created may turn out to be a terrible musician, or hate music all together. The reason the clones are war ready is from the environment they grow in. All battle simulations from the momment they are able to comprehend it.
But this is based off real cloning, and not SW cloning. Just some info people might wanna know.
It was my understanding that Jango helped the Kaminoins to train the clones.
