I miss those days because I was the one everyone was forced to give one too XD
You're not alone. That's probably true of many of us here.
Yep. Agree completely.
Until I discovered other groups of geeks like me, I thought, gee , what the heck is wrong with all these unimaginative, homogenous, lunk heads that surround me. Meanwhile they thought, what f'ing planet is this nut job from? While all the other girls were getting into make up, miniskirts and heels, I was learning the electric guitar, wearing chuck taylors and spending my weekends at the theater watching re-released star wars again and again and again. When I didn't see the movie, I'd build elaborate sets with figures and tie fighters and such, and take pictures of them with my instamatic camera. Really really bad pictures. I devoured every novel that came out, and when I didn't have one to read, I'd write my own stuff to keep entertained. I'm not even sure I knew when Valentine's day even was back then, and trust me, no one was sending me cards to remind me. But I'll tell you this: I knew the schedule of every creation convention and comic con in the New York City area. The flyers they sent me were my favorite type of mail next to my star wars fan club stuff.
