Re: The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 6
“Fan Service” should never be considered a bad thing. It’s about creators repaying the people who have devoted time and energy and money to a character or franchise by putting on screen something that many of us have been playing out in our heads for decades. This episode was for all of us who scooped up every Boba Fett toy and book and comic in the 80s and 90s waiting for him to return. We are the reason Jango Fett and the Mandalorians were created, but they could never take the place of the original who still lives in our dreams and on our shelves. Boba Fett returned to show the world why we’ve always loved him. It’s a proud day indeed.
Helmet nods to Aaron and each and every one else here who have cultivated this fandom and built a place for us to share it with each other.

Amazing! Every word of what you just said ... was RIGHT! Lol but in all seriousness, well said!

Dank Farrick! I was so blown away by this episode. I didn't think it could get much better than the last one, but they fracking delivered! I've always had mixed feelings about the design of Slave 1, but I nearly cried when it flew into screenshot. So good seeing it back. And loved seeing Boba use the gaffi stick. So glad Temuera Morrison could come back to play in this universe again.

My thoughts.... Boba is changed, I think he doesn't care about credits like before, he almost died, and probably was saved by the sand people, it changed him, at first I thought he was after the child bounty and the armor and would eventually betray Din but... moff gideon already has Grogu... soo.... I think he will honor his word. Nice to see they finally honored Boba the way he deserves, because, he IS The reason why Mandalorians exist, the whole show and mandalorian content, it's because of him, he is the first.

First time posting on this site. Long time follower on Instagram. I just had to join up and share in the excitement for the return of the Fett!
Incredible episode. I know it's probably wishful thinking, but part of me can't help but feel like the entire Mandalorian series was made just to create a plausible return of Boba Fett. Hopefully before the end of the season we'll learn a bit more about his escape from the sarlacc and how he lost his armor.
Can't wait to join in on the discussion!
Re: The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 6
That episode was so good it pushed me from decade long guest on this site, to card carrying member. I Dig how Fett’s sidearm resembles the 1313 blaster featured on the BFFC shirt, even though I’m really jonesing for some Westar 34 action/sound. I’m surprised he didn’t grab the EE-3 rifle from the Razor Crest, seemed like they intentionally alluded to it with the brief return of Zero. And finally, really glad Boba got some new boots, those crazy spiked OT boots are not an easy thing to pull off in cosplay lol.

And an interview with Temuera Morrison :
Re: The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 6
Boba reminiscing on the Empire "returning" in his Slave 1 is such an under-appreciated moment in this episode. Boba just calmly saying "They're back." hit me on so many levels. Boba worked with the the empire a LOT, arguably more than any other Bounty Hunter, so I'm sure Boba revisiting the empire and reminiscing about Vader and such will be expanded upon in future episodes.

I was so happy with the treatment of Fett in this episode. For so long, this guy has been a criminally underdeveloped character (in terms of live action, on-screen presence) for one who is also so iconic.
Favreau, with so little detail, has not only managed to give Boba a more nuanced role - that he has for so long deserved - but he's also managed to, retroactively, give Jango a credible Mandalorian history, so that he isn't just some pretender in a suit of armor. We now know that Jango, too, was a foundling and - like his Legends counterpart - fought in the Mandalorian Civil War.
Its a huge boost, too, for the level of performance that Tem Morrison has been able to give onscreen in Star Wars, too. Jango was such a monosyllabic, simplistic character that I was afraid this rendition of Fett would be the same. But Favreau has managed to write to Morrison's strengths, and there was more than a little of that seething ferocity that Morrison imbued into the infamous Jake 'the Muss' Heke added to the scarred Fett. Morrison finally had a role that he could sink his teeth into and act - rather than just being a brooding bruiser in a suit of armor. I feel Morrison's performance in this role alone far and above excelled his performance in Attack of the Clones, as he had a larger meatier role to play.
It is my hope that Fett, Boba at least, get's the character development he truly deserves and that Morrison, too, gets to flex his acting muscles in playing the 'simple man' with the dented helmet as well as other characters that share his face.
Beautifully said, Joe.
Thank you!

My thoughts exactly. Boba has essentially, to use an old adage, 'found religion'. Even if that doesn't mean he's literally turned theist, I feel he's certainly had a turning point in his life since surviving the sarlacc that had resulted in a sign. Canon pre-ROTJ Fett would have likely disintegrated Din and Grogu on sight, without any attempt at discussion or bargaining, and taken the armor back by force. His line about fate stepping in to save the wretched is a pretty self-damning statement, taken at face value. It certainly implies, to me, that his self worth around ROTJ was pretty low and he may now have a different perspective on things. Its also telling that he was aware that Vanth had the armor and, in my opinion, may have allowed him to keep it because he was using it for honorable ends.

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking this might play into a Fett redemption arc. I'm not saying that our boy will ever be a goody two shoes but, perhaps, he's transitioned from a place of wretchedness (to paraphrase him) to a more moral and honorable perspective. He may no longer be content to be anyone's lackey, as he appeared to be with Jabba, and may instead serve a code of honor based on morals and justice.

Re: The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 6
First time posting in a LONG time, unfortunately. With that being said let me just state the obvious, FETT IS BACK BABY! The filmmakers handled him so well too. Forgive me about what I said about how I don't like Temuera Morrison. He was so epic in this episode! The way that Boba took out those stormtroopers was very unique, he didn't just kick their arses, he MANGLED THEM! So happy that he's back!
