The first episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 is finally out, and what a way to premiere! We have seen many things and, among them… Boba's armor and, most likely, him too!
But, let's go part by part: When Din went to Tatooine he found the "Mandalorian" that he was looking for, who turned out to be Cobb Vanth who was wearing an armor that has proved to be very familiar to us... Nothing less than the armor of Fett. According to him, he bought it to some Jawas, after the Mining Collective attacked Mos Pelgo when the Empire fell down. He was forced to flee from there as soon as possible and, after days on the road, he met the Jawas, and then, he got the armor. So, probably, the Jawas found Boba's armor not long after the empire fell or even before it did.
Once he got the armor, he kicked the collective out of town, and here is where comes the scene of Boba's jetpack missile in action. Personally, I loved seeing this, and I’m sure that I’m not the only one.
Once we know why Cobb has Boba's armor, let's go back to the main plot. Din and Vanth stroke a deal. He would give him the armor in exchange for helping him defeat the krayt dragon, which posed a great threat to Mos Pelgo. In addition, they would have the help of the Sand People and the habitants of Mos Pelgo.
The plan to kill the dragon was based on attacking its abdomen, which is its only weak point. To achieve this, they had to lure it out of the cave and, when it had left enough, attack it with explosives previously placed under the ground.
But, obviously, it was not going to be that easy. The explosives were useless. They had to attack him internally, in other words, introduce the explosives inside his body, since his shell was too hard. So Mando and Cobb used their jetpacks to get his attention. I have to say that I also loved this detail. Even though Cobb isn't Boba, I find it amazing to see his armor in action. And of course, seeing Din again is a pleasure.
Once they had the krayt's attention, Din mustered all his ingenious once more: he grabbed one of the Banthas that was carrying explosives, and let the dragon to gulp them down, so he could came out of his interior with the jetpack and make it explode with the detonator. The dragon is no match for Mando haha!
As a man of prayer, Cobb handed the armor over to Din. And here not only the end of the chapter is approaching, but also the most shocking moment of all that has left us amazed and expectant. The man who appears while Din is leaving with the speeder. This just makes me think that we are one step closer to seeing the best bounty hunter in the galaxy on screen once again. Although, technically, we already have.
