Topic: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

OK, so I have been obsessed with trying to figure out where Boba's helmet/armor came from. I think that it's Jango's OLD armor as seen on the cover of the comic book "Open Seasons #2". If it is, how did boba get it?

Boba's armor CAN'T be Jango's from AOTC and just repainted because:

1. There's no blue paint layer on Boba's helmet's vizor's frame(I have the Master Replicas Boba helmet and it has silver, green, and red colors on the vizor frame only, NO BLUE).

2. Jango's helmet gets a dent on the top middle during the fight with obi wan in AOTC and Boba's helmet doesn't have a dent there, his is more near the front.

Also, where did Jango's silver armor come from?

Someone please help me figure this out!

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

Boba's helmet came from a concept of Darth Vaders, which has a number of influences, the only one I'm able to remember right now though is the WWII German style helmet.

EDIT: Sorry I thought you meant OUT of universe.

I meant fictionally speaking though. In the story of star wars, where does boba get his helmet and armor?

Read my whole post please wink

Yeah sorry 'bout that, Im pretty sure its just a durasteel custom set, that he either built himself, or had made.

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

But it looks just like Jango's old green one... seen here:

That would also explain why boba's armor is so beat up looking, because it's already been in battle before he even wore it.

If I'm right, where did he get it and when?

Is my theory wrong?

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

Boba's armor is Jango's silver armor repainted. In the kiddie book series about Boba we see him in book 1 The Fight to Survive take Jango's helmet and put it on. He wears it a lot after that. In book 5 A New Threat one of Jabba's servants who's friendly towards Boba resizes Jango's armor for him (as he's about 12 or 13 here) and Boba starts wearing that. In book 6 Pursuit he decides to make the armor his and repaints it.

And as for where Jango got his silver armor, in Open Seasons Part 3 we see that a faction of the Mandalorians betray the other and Jedi, yes, Jedi, are tricked into thinking this planet they're on is under attack by the peaceful group of Mandos who think they're there to rescue some government people trapped on a mountain, so the Jedi kill all the Mandalorians except Jango whom they sold into slavery cause we all know that Jedi are kind and caring. (I don't much care for PT Jedi, they were kinda corrupt by that point) After Jango frees himself he goes back to kill some of the people responsible for his slavery and the slaughter of the Mandos. The guy in charge of the planet who sent for the Jedi is one of them, and he happens to have a mini-museum and part of it is some silver Mandalorian armor. And Jango takes these.

Where the armor was before that, I don't know.

I do know Boba has spares and extras, so by the time of ANH he might not even be wearing the exact same armor, at least not entirely. And we know he does change bits from movie to movie, such as gloves and flightsuit, for example. Also in ANH his shoulder pad is missing the mythosaur (sp?) skull, but in the other two he has it there. And in one of The Bounty Hunter Wars books the visor of his helmet gets a crack in it and he goes to the closet to get a new one. So I gather he sorta collects Mandalorian armor, if for no other reason than spare parts.

I wouldn't base anything entirely on a collectable, even if it is Master Replicas.

As for dents, he can bang those back out. Jango even tells him this in The Fight to Survive I think it was, that you get out the dents, fix it up, clean it, but never polish it. And where Boba's dent came from is Enemy of the Empire, I forget exactly what happens but I believe it's from being shot.

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

OK thanks. That makes sense with other info I've found.

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

Miba's correct, but I'm pretty sure that Jango's armor was originally Jaster Mereel's, who was Jango's mentor that died along side him in battle. Before Jaster, I'm pretty sure it was handed down the Mereel clan, or Jaster made it.

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

Jango was wearing armor at the same time Jaster was, so clearly they're not the same suit at that point. Jaster's was green with the red around the visor. The silver armor Jango gets is some historic collector's piece that was on display at that one guy's house on Galadriaan. So unless Jango went back later and took Jaster's armor and was wearing that in the Open Seasons part where all the Mandalorians are killed, they aren't the same.

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

I read the same thing that he wore his fathers armor but just modified it.

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

I had a full character guide book that came out before episode 3 and I've always been obsessed with mandalorians. This is the absolute truth about where his armor came from. They used to say it was old ancestral armor from a very very long time ago maybe post neo crusades. It wasn't Cassus Fetts but it is an old ancestors of the fetts that Boba had. I forget if Jango already had it or Boba obtained it. Now all they say is it was just customized. I personally prefer the old story.

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

Boba's helmet and armor are not Jango's. He used Jango's helmet to try and kill Maxe Windu. As for the armor, Boba's been tricking it out, taking it from various sources and mixing them together. He puts stuff Death Watch wouldn't since he's a bounty hunter not Mandalorian. He wears the armor because Jango used to, that's the connection for him, he probably has different types of gear all in Slave 1. All according to Dave Filoni.

@vincymol I think it's about in-universe origin ^^

Also it seems that you posted twice, you might want to delete on of your posts wink

Re: What's the origin of Boba's armor?

For those reading this thread now: some updates.

In the official animated series "The Clone Wars," Season 2 Episode 21 (April 30, 2010) shows Jango's helmet get blown up. See https://www.bobafettfanclub.com/fettped … lone-wars/ for a synopsis breakdown. Boba's modern helmet is different in the current canon.
