Topic: Boba or Jango?

If you had to chose between Boba or Jango as your favourite hunter, who would it be?

I know I'd pick Boba - the original and the best :D

Mine would undoubtedly be the esteemed Boba Fett. He has by far surpassed his father in precision, coldness, and calculating skills. The greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy? Boba Fett hands down.

Probably Boba, Jango we don't get much information on. Boba is the more mysterious one.

i think boba is a cooler character, but jango got better action sequences in the movies... it would be close, but i would have to say boba because i knew him first...

I'm going with Jango Fett.

Jango was instrumental in dealing the final blow for the age old Mandalorian/Jedi feud. He didn't have to fly off of the bacony and confront Mace... he hated the Jedi. He hated seeing so many in one place.
Boba, by comparison to his father, seemed indifferent to Luke's urge at rebuilding the Jedi ranks. Boba had the opportunity to confront Luke about his Jedi leanings on several occasions, but chose business over settling an old score.

i agree. jango was more about personal stuff than boba. boba was more about business. i think it would have been different had lucas made them in order.... hey, now theres an idea....

Boba definatly a better charecter a perfect  unemotinal voice there is so much more written about him etc etc.

Boba.  Not only is he the original, but his personality and costume are much better.  Jango just isn't as cool without a cape.

Boba Fett is in my opinion the better bounty hunter. Jango is good, though. Too bad he never lived to see his clones in action.

It's hard to choose, but I'm going to have to go with Boba. He doesn't let feelings get in the way of his business. Plus, he's smart and ruthless and mysterious.  He's the perfect Bounty Hunter!

Boba definitely has my vote as he is a cold calculating person.  Boba brings in any bounty without delay and he doesn't give up.

The way I actually got into Boba fanacticism, and Star Wars itself come to think of it, was back when in 6th grade around the time AOTC came out. I had this really close friend who ran circles around me when it came to SW. I didn't really know much about the the universe itself back then, but we all had a blast having pretend lightsaber battles. To everyone watching it looked like a bunch of kids swinging their clenched fists around.

Anyway I ask this friend a question: Who do you like better, Boba or Jango? So he answers Jango.

The next day he came up to me, and he just had a distraught look on his face. He says, "I don't know why I said that yesterday. Boba is so much better then Jango."

The reason I remember that was because he just looked so horrified at what he'd said the previous day. His dad was really into that stuff too, so I guess they had a nice long Fett conversation. But to this day I still don't know what inspired him to change his mind.

So after that I kind of became his Star War disciple. I felt like I needed to know everything. It was honestly one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Yeah, so that's my story. You can understand why I was devastated when my friend moved away. I don't see him much anymore and that really sucks, but he taught me everything.

Boba is better than Jango 'Nuff Said ;)

Exactly we shouldn't even be questioning Boba's superiority to Jango.

I'm going for boba because well he's not dead.

Don't get me wrong though, I've come to love Jango anyways because I really thought they were gonna massacre the whole Jaster Meeral backstory. However Temuera Morrison's portayal exceeded my expectations.

*sigh* If only the rest of the movie could've followed suite.

Yeah this statement says it all: Jango's dead. Boba isnt. at least, not yet.

So what are we going to think if George gives Boba a role in the TV-series? I guess he will have Temuera's voice and still be cool...

By the way, I just got Tales of the Bounty Hunters, so what do you guys say I should think about Jaster Mereel?
Should I think Jaster Mereel is a fake name? Or should I think it's the story that Boba spread himself to cover his past and to make sure noone knew that he is infact a clone?
Actually I haven't read it all yet. I'm going to read alot this evening.

Why

Read the story on Wookieepedia. I don't really know the whole story myself, but Jaster is now the Mandalorian who took Jango in when his parents were killed by the other faction.

I kinda go through "phases" about what character I like. First it was Commander Appo and Boba Fett, then it was Darth Revan, and now it's Jango. Jango has an interesting story. If you haven't read it, go to the Wookiepedia and read it now.

Boba Fett is the greater Hunter, he has more successes and a longer carreer than Jango. Personally I prefer Boba's style over Jango's, though I want to point out that Jango's carreer might have been as impressive as Boba's if he hadn't lived during a time when Jedi were so prolific. Being a bounty hunter during the Old Republic meant running into a lot of Jedi, and of course the Jedi didn't look favorably on Mandalorians. Boba deals with Darth Vader, but as far as I know they only clashed once (over some woman's head), other than that little to no contact with Jedi-types until the New Republic Era. And those Jedi are few, and not as extensively trained as Old Rep. Jedi. Overall, Boba does what everyone hopes from their son, he surpasses his father.

Boba has killed many Jedi.

Jango has also killed many Jedi.

They've both killed plenty of Jedi, but of the two only Jango had to deal with a Galaxy spanning organisation dedicated to defending the peace, the Jedi Order. Which would bring Groups of Jedi into conlfict with Bounty Hunters, Mercenaries, Assassins, Smugglers, Pirates, Ninjas, and all other cool professions. Boba had the Empire to deal with, which employed the services of Bounty Hunters , Mercenaries, Assassins, and to a limited extent Smugglers and Pirates in its effort to maintain control of the Galaxy. Basically what I'm saying is Boba lives during a time that is more tolerant of of his profession.

Ah but remember Jango chose a side by being employed fully by Dooku.

Boba remained freelance at all times, he took on jobs for both sides of the law. No boundaries for Mr B Fett, which allowed him to go on to greater things...

Jango Fett got killed easily, plus when i use him in battlefront 2 i always die, but boba fett rocks out loud

i vote for Boba because his arsenal is so much better and he was trained by Jango to a certain extent

You know i've always liked Boba and Jango but I would have to pick Boba.I picked Boba because well his armours way better than his fathers but I sincerly liked how he never took his helmet off.I really thought it was cool how he acted so mysterious.He always got good bountys and always got him self to higher pay. To bad he didnt get good fight scenes in the movies like his father.

Nicely stated. I can't stress enough how much the fight scenes with Boba could've been a little improved.

No contest, this one goes to Boba hands down.

I vote for Boba his armor is more cooler than Jango. And many ppl might like Jango Fett because he got more action than Boba in the movies but there are some pretty good fan films out there in the net where you can see Boba in action.

You gotta admit Jango kicked some @$$ in AOTC.

i most definately would say boba fett because he not only managed to laugh in the face of death & survive but he also becomes the last clone alive/best bounty hunter in the world
