I've had cats all my life ,but I can't say whether I'm a cat or dog Person
Siamese all that I've had were Gentlemen
Himalayians very Handsome cats, best about them they didn't hunt the wildlife around here
and never wandered away from home [because they couldn't find home]
Now this Birman Cat .... SIRIS...is the most Little demon of a Cat I've ever had
after one of his many games of trying to outdo me,,raked up all these Leaves, when
I had finished he went though them like Scud Missile...pretty soon !!!!

Houston !!!!! we have a Furry Cat in Orbit !!!
          Bats
ps Why do I love him

May 25, 2006 12:40 am #

OOoooh, cats!!! I have Birman cats as well... They are so affectionate and caring... Mine have mated and have got kittens.. 4 of them! They are so sweet and at 4 months they already respond to their names! One of them is a real demon, too :) Cant pet him for more than 5 seconds before he tries to pull your arm off! :P

I used to have dogs when I was younger, I love them too. I think I'm actually a dog person more than a cat one. Sure I get along well with felines but I actually treat them like dogs, training them to fetch the ball and stuff :)

I've always had moggies. Our current cat, Bella, is a brown tabby with white nose, paws, tummy and the tip of her tail. We're thinking of getting her a friend. We'd like to get either a Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat or Rag Doll. Such cuties ;)

Current cat I have is very moody. She thinks she is teh Queen! LOL But she's very loving when she wants to be.

We had a boy cat, who I just loved, because he was always prepared to give you attention and he was such a sweat heart. But he had to be put down because something was wrong with his liver.

Yeah, same with me.  I must say, cats are my only weakness.  Okay, maybe a really hot chick'll work too.  I'm thinking about getting a Maine Coon (awsome type cat) and naming it Beowulf.  (awsome type name)

Well, I'm more of a dog person, but you could count one of my dogs as a cat.

I love kittens, though! :)

But it's funny how he acts toward my dog! He waits on the side of a corner for the dog to come by, and POP!!! the cat jumps him!!  lol  It's Hilarious!

LOL you amuse me, True Warrior. Normally I'd cringe at any spelling mistakes (I'm a spaz, I know) , but those are funny :)

I have 3 cats, and they're all just the quirkiest animals ever. Two were strays we rescued from our neighborhood when they were kittens, one long-haired and one short-haired. The black-and-white long-haired, who we named Mistophales (ok, hypocrite time. Spelling = O_O) after the cat in the musical Cats, just lurves my sister, and spends all day sleeping in the yet-to-be-folded laundry.

The black short-haired, who we named Shadow (original, huh?) , is just crazy. He somehow manages to be everywhere at once, always in the way, and will randomly spaz out at the wall and do flips in the air. Even though we had him declawed he had still managed to kill half a dozen animals (and he's an indoor cat!); we think he takes after SciFiFreak. Makes sense, considering the cat plops down on his back when he's asleep.

The third we just got recently, from a shelter- he's a siemese mix, with sand-colored fur and brilliant blue eyes. He's the whiniest thing I've ever heard, but he never meows: he sounds exactly like a human baby. It creeps me out sometimes.

Hehe, I love going on about stuff that only I care about. If you actually read through all this, sorry for wasting those few minutes of your life!

I love cats. I had one when I was a kid, and she was the best cat I've ever owned. Rejoyca. But she died when I was 8. I had a cat or two after her but they weren't very well behaved. I have a new cat now, named Mara. She's got green eyes and black fur. Though she has a small stripe on  her chest that runs all the way down her stomach. She turns one this month, actually. I'm not sure which day, exactly, cause I got her from a "free kittens" add in the classifieds and forgot to ask before I left. lol She gets into trouble a lot, but overall she's extremely cute. When she was very small she somehow managed to injure herself so one of her back claws got pulled wrong, and now it doesn't go back in, and is slightly to the side. She's fine now, but at first she was in pain cause of it. When she happens to be in a good mood, she decides her sleeping spot is on my second pillow (or by my legs, or on my back, or on my stomach) no matter what I have to say about it. She's also claimed the top of my harddrive, and if I ever put things up there she knocks them down. She also loves climbing into my windows, but I have to make her stay out of them cause she breaks the blinds and cause she insists on climbing up to the top, which is a small little ledge, and so she falls down and gets tangled in the blinds. She's very playful though, if it makes a tappy noise or moves, she'll bat at it. You know cardboard milk cartons and their plastic "safety" thingies inside the lid? She loves those more than just about any other toy I give her. I do feel a bit bad for her cause lately I've been buying the regular plastic carton milks. But, oh, well. I also feel very bad about not being able to let her outside, but I can't cause I live too close to the road, and I live in town and she'd run off. But she really wants go out.

That is cool. My hubby has always wanted a Maine Coon, I was hoping to buy him one as a wedding pressie (but was too poor). He wants a blue tabby male. He's insisting that he'd call him Thor.

Miba, I can remember when you posted pics of Mara, I can't believe she's gonna be one! Wow, you'll have to show us pics of her now ;)

I have a picture of her with a birthday cake I made.

[ADMIN: Defunct links to starwarsdotcom dot com removed.]

I had trouble taking it cause she either ran away, or tried to bat at the flame. In fact, the second I snapped that, she was off the bed and running. I used the bed cause the table was cluttered. And she has sure grown! I recently saw a picture of baby Mara and she was so tiny back then.

That is so cute.  She looks kind of like my sister's cat Max (who has the personality of Satan incarnate).  My cat is a mutt named Oscar, but he looks kind of like a Maine coon.  Very long haired and sweet, well-behaved (he used to patiently jiggle the doorknob whenever he wanted back into the house), but he's a natural killer.  And then we have an adopted stray named Ginger, who is a tortoise-shell female.  Oh, and unfortunately, we have a stray tabby at the moment that we can't seem to chase away.  Very irritating.

I am certainly a cat person.  Dogs drool, cat's don't.  Cats will go in a litterbox, dogs will not.  Cats will not tear up trash and leave it around the yard.  Dogs will.  Cats won't roll around in their own waste.  Dogs will.  Dogs hve killed poeple, cats have not.  Cats won't usually dig up your garden.  Dogs will.  Cat's don't feel the need to mark their territory whereever they go.  Dogs do.  Cats won't keep you up all night with their annoying, pointless barking, dogs will.  So thats why I like cats better.

Hehe I know what you mean about growing up Miba. We saw a video of Katie a few nights ago and she was so LITTLE and fuzzy. Its so amazing she was so small once, especially since Toby isn't that much bigger then her.

The cat that owns our house is a mix of tabby and Main Coon.  She's a svelte 17 lbs with about 100 pounds of personality to match.  She's Tim's darling. Follows him everywhere, yelling.  She believes his is the climate god.  She's focused completely on HER comfort. She's also the most routinzed, time sensitive cat I've ever had.  We call her Skreech because thats what she does.  She's very affectionate, and territorial.  She's tried to go through the glass windows on the porch to attack passing by kitties and dogs.   She's so big we had to buy her a Medium Sized dog bed because she didn't fit the cat bets.  She's about the hieght and length of a good sized terrier.

Our friends down the street have a full Main Coon.  He's a Male, VERY SWEET, and skittish.  He's twice as long as ours, very tall, and very thin.

I like th Main Coons, but they tend to be better if they're of mixed breeding.  I know of a few that were pretty psycho and not in a good, clean fun kind of way.

I'm absolutely a dog person. Just choose a dog that doesn't drool. Cats throwup everywhere , scratch things, leave a nasty odor, and what othe animal has a litter box? Desgusting. My dog doesn't do anything I dont like. I guess I'm just lucky. :/

What other animal craps on your floor and yard?  Dogs.  And don't tell me yours doesn't, cause that's a lie.  They all do at one point or another.  If you like dogs, that's fine  you gave your input.  But you can't change the simple fact that cats are better than dogs in pretty much all respects.  And don't try to keep arguing with me about this.  It is a dumb topic to start a fight about.
Oh, and dogs definitely smell worse than cats do

The problem with cats if they're not naturally "trained", they tend to pee and crap in places like.... under my desk :O , and if I didn't clean it spotless (that means, without an ounce of their scent left), they'll do it again :O

And with the litter box: the kittens are maniacs. If the box is filthy they're going to shit outside the box, then play around with their turds in house :O

My cat's only thrown up twice. Once in the house (I have no idea what she ate that made her throw up, all she ever eats is cat food, unless I leave ice cream with any sort of vanilla in it sitting out, then she has her nose in it the second I turn away), and once when she was in the car. I felt bad for her both times.

And my cat naturally took to her litter box and never goes anywhere but there.

I've always been a cat person, but I think people tend to be bias to whatever pets they grew up with. My Dad hates dogs, he can't stand the barking. That's why we never had one.

My older cat vomits fairly often (but its not his fault since its a mixture of hairballs and life-long stomach problems), but our younger one only puked twice. Once was a hairball... And the other time was because she over ate XD

They also tend to puke more if they've eaten grass or as you say, if they have furballs. Brushing usually helps with that. ;)

Aww, that's horrible, Yautja. Would you shoot me if I gave you a sympathy hug? :P

I never let my cat outside cause I'm right by a busy road. And she'll never let me brush her cause when I try she thinks we're playing and attacks the brush. But she's fairly shorthaired so it's not a big problem.

The trick to brushing is to have a second brush or comb in front of her held by your other hand. I know this trick works because Katie has the same problem.

My mom's friend told me this story of his dog dying. Not to get off topic, but here it goes.....

Ok, I used to live on a farm as a boy, and I had a very good sheep dog. Her name was Sheep. He always used to follow me and listen to everything I say. One day, I was planting some vegetables and Sheep was herding the cattle. One of the cattle tried to make a run for it for some reason, and Sheep ran right after her, as she should. Then the cattle got to the main road and a bus was coming. I quickly ran up there to stop the bus. I got to the road just as the cow did. The cow made it safely across, but as for Sheep...........well. She saw the bus in front of me and she thought it was going to try to kill me or something. So she jumped right infront of me (to save me)and guess who I found in the buses back wheel. :/

Done....

Heartwarming, sad, funny, all at the same time. awww, poor doggy. :(

That is so sad :( But at least you know your dog thought she was defending you. That must be a small consolation.

I think it interesting, once we only just burnt something on the stove and Bella meowed at us continually until we followed her to the door. At least I know if we ever have a fire she'll let us know as soon as she gets the tiniest whiff of smoke.
