My brother is trying to get my into some of his music; not bad stuff really. I've been in Viking/Barbarian sorta mood lately :P
^ pretty cool, reminds me of Nightwish or Evanescence or something...
as far as Viking bands I don't know many but this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79Lf13u9B5Q is a pretty good song (and they are Scandinavian so close enough :p)
Not sure if what I listen to can really be posted here... it's kinda shocking visually. Not for sensitive hearts either.

Not bad; I like the sound from the singers.
Same on Mien Teil. Don't understand a word they say, and I usually listen to it with the video minimized, but the sound the band and singer has is awesome.
By Viking music I was meaning something a litte more like THIS. A bit repetitive, but I love the sound. Not something I'd listen all the time, but it really puts me into the warrior spirit when I'm writing or working on my costumes :D
As far as normal, everyday stuff I love to listen to all the time, one of my all time favorite songs right now is Bad Company by Five Finger Death Punch. It's the theme song I've picked for my Cheyenne Security Agency concept for my Army of Two/Expendables style mercenary company. My friends joke that it's MY theme song since I listen to it so much :P
@ Terra: When I was a little kid I used to have the Mortal Kombat soundtracks (I loved those movies) and one of my favorite songs on it was Rammstein - Engel, I had no idea what they were saying but I listened to it over and over
@ Ralin: That was a good viking song my bad about the confusion for what you meant lol, but yeah I like those types of songs (chants etc) a lot. Bad Company was cool too, do you have the album it's on and would you recommend it?
NP: Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
Iron Maiden is awesome. I also like some old GnR very much. Bruce and Axl are probably the voices I can "karaoke" the best too, lol.
That Viking stuff is really different. Thanks for sharing. It's an experience. I can see how it can go according to a certain moodÂ.
Reminds me stuff from a native american band I've been listening to since a very long time, Kashtin. Here's a few of their best songs:

Not your typical expected "native american" stuff but I love it. Started listening to them in the 90s and didn't stop since then. There's also another band/singer I love, here's a link to one of his recent songs (he's been in a band in the 90s, now he goes solo but sometimes the band gathers for concerts) :

An awesome artist and awesome man. I had a long conversation with him on Facebook one night that I was hitting rock bottom, a few years ago. He has all this talent and these awesome songs and we had this conversation about little me, lol. He's opened my eyes on a couple things in his cold, fist-hit, straight-to-the-point style. That guy's always been a natural winner and that night he gave me a little of that. Been a good wake-up, gonna have to thank him someday.
:)

NP: Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
Yeah I've got the album and definately recomend it. Hard To See and Burn It Downare two epic songs from that album, and there's several others that are pretty good.
I never would have considered myself a 'metal head' in anyway before I started listening to them, and I'm really still not, but this band alone has really broadened my horizens into the genre. I just love the lead singer's voice. He can do really heavy metal, but sound just as epic in ballads and slower paced songs. And the band behind him is just awesome.
I didn't think there were quite as many really good songs on the 'Way of the Fist' album, but it does have one of my all time favorite songs on it, bar none. Never Enough is like a theme for everybody who ever fought to fit in but was just never good enough; and finally had enough. Epic song from a great band
I guess I'm a metal head myself, on some sides. Not as much as before though, I recently "dumped" KISS as their recent album (Sonic Boom, don't try it, it sucks) was so bad that if I had been in their place, I just wouldn't have released it at all. It kinda broke my love of them and trust that they only make good stuff. They are not what they used to be.
In fact, recently, GnR (Chinese Democracy), Ace Frehley (Anomaly), KISS (Sonic Boom), and even Rammstein (Roserot) all disappointed me, along with Aerosmith splitting up.
There's another old band, sorta hard, of which I like the sound, although I am not sure I agree with the lyrics, lol. Rage Against The Machine.
Yeah I stopped paying attention to new GnR, they'll never be as good as they used to be when they had slash and everything. Rage Against the Machine is great though, I love their guitarist his riffs are always really cool.
NP: Blackstar - Respiration
Sorry if it's a stupid question, what's NP standing for?
Yeah I think RATM were the first ones using an electric guitar in that way. It's really different.
I think he's saying that's what he's 'Now Playing'
Cool. Thanks. "NP" triggers automatically "no problem" in my mind, and I could not imagine what else it could be, lol.
I need something new to listen to. Anyone got something to suggest?
Classic Rock!!!! AC/DC
Long time I didn't listen to that. Only got "Back In Black" at home. I used to have "The Razors Edge", but I have no clue where it went.
Lately it's still my old GnR. Can't seem to get enough of good old Axl Rose from the 90s.
Classic Rock!!!! AC/DC
Wow, somebody besides Fettmatic, Terra, or me posted on this thread. lolz

NP: The Roots - Section
^This is from one of my favorite albums, Illadelph Halflife
it's 2010 man get an mp3 player lol!
There's echo around here... :P
Now even my fav musician starts getting into Lady Gaga, does it mean I have to follow that crazy wave?.. Gene, you disappoint me... again (after Sucky Boom).
I'm eclectic, but... I mean, she's creative and daring, but she's not that special and her music material is not all that good. All the special effects are only a wrapping-better-than-gift illusion. Kudos for all the new ideas and illusions, it's showbusiness. But it's still I-want-to-get-seen more than good music.
I know, I know, KISS was the same. I am starting to see it now that the charm has waned off of me, lol. Bah, when you can't make it by being beautiful, make it by being a monster. Lady Gaga's even a bigger monster than they've been, they've had one rather static shape while she keeps morphing into weirder and weirder, lol.
NP: Elton John / Daniel
Yup, some good old Elton John. He keeps doing new stuff but I prefer his "Greatest Hits" from the 70s. It's just good. Makes you want to grab a guitar and start playing softly.
NP: Justin Bieber - U Smile
...
Now before you start judging me this version of the song was slowed down by 800% and amazingly it's actually a good ambient track
Five Finger Death Punch's Never Enough; friggin love that song..
A combination of what's on my two favorite radio stations one which plays classic rock and the other that plays eclectic pop music. Then there's whatever is in my CD collection. I usually reach for Enya, Gin Blossoms, or Belinda Carlisle most of the time.
