I was doing a search today for some Boba Fett Kubricks and happened upon many discussions about a new set of Kubrick's coming out in June 2009 by Medicom titled the Boba Fett Collection.  This was the first I'd heard of this, so after looking at several sites I found the most in depth description of them on a collector's site called the Bantha Skull, of all things.  How appropriate (even though the Mandalorian symbol is not actually a Bantha's skull, but commonly and mistakenly called that, even by members of LucasFilm's merchandising team.  But that is a discussion for a different board).

All of these are new figures and they look very, very nice.  It hasn't been said yet, that I could find, whether they'll be in boxes or carded like some of the other special series of Kubrick figures Medicom has released in the past.  They will be sold separately, though, and not as an entire collector's pack.  That will make getting just the ones you want easier.  Although, they still might be as expensive to buy as previous Fett Kubricks.

And, last but not least, we can't forget about the Jango Fett Kubrick that was released last year in a pack and later boxed individually.

Finding some of the older Fett Kubricks is still a challenge.  Most of the variants are way too overpriced for my taste, so I'm still trying to find a cheaper one on eBay.  So far, the Jango Fett and Empire version (common version) of Boba Fett are the easiest and cheapest ones to get anywhere.  Hopefully, the new releases this summer won't be near as hard to find for a decent price.

Enjoy everyone.

They're cute! They look like lego.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

I have been living in Japan for the past 8 years and I have looked and looked for a good deal on the first series variations. They were released here in extremely limited quantities. I like Kubrik/ Midicom's toys but they make it so hard to collect them. limited editions and hard to find items are kind of a fashion here. I will be looking forward to the second series of Fett figures but I'm not going to hold my breath as far as collecting them all goes.

An update on the new Fett Kubricks that have come out.  Like the first series, there are several chase variants that are out there to keep an eye out for.  The first is another prototype version of Fett, like the series one chase, however, this version seems to be based on the pre-production costume that had the Jaig Eyes on his helmet.  Pretty neat.

Next, is a "J-slot" rocket firing version of the Kenner figure style Kubrick.  We finally got one!!

And also, and unpainted variant version of that figure.

These are all pretty pricey on eBay right now, so good luck finding these.

Also, on a side note, there are two different versionS of the basic set that was listed above.

There are the regular type that's out, and they come in a little cube box, like below.

Then there are the carded versions, that were available only at the Japan Toy Exhibition.

These come already pre-boxed, so you can take them out or leave them in the box.

Good luck hunting.  OYA!!

The thing is...I f-ing live in Japan and I can't nail one down to save my life. It's like they all went straight to secondary market. I have been to stores around Tokyo that have samples for display purposes but I can't find anyplace that actually sells the damn things. I am only interested in the prototype and maybe the Holiday special versions but man it's crazy. The Japanese love to pull this kind of crap. A few times I have gotten lucky and been at the right place at the right time but usually when something like this hits I am left in the dark. And I'm not really asking for that much :( boo-hoo...pitty party
