I don't mean to be negative.....buuuuut....

Has anyone else noticed how much millage Hasbro is getting out of the Boba Fett figure molds? Since 1964 starting with G.I. Joe Hasbro has had a long history of reusing molds and repackaging items with new sets but this Boba Fett thing is a little much I think. granted, the Jodo Kast figure paint variation is cool, but, that's all it really is. Hasbro has been clever enough, occasionally, to use different parts of different figures, like using the 300th figure torso with the OTC legs etc. They has mixed and matched a bit.

But what I would really like to see, and out of all of the different variations they have produced, with boxed sets, comics versions, madalorian commando sets etc, I would have though they would have produced by now is the prototype Fett. The way he looked in the very first publicity stills and on the first Kenner cards.

FYI, if anyone is still looking for  Jodo Kast I see them all the time where I live, Tokyo, Japanese folks don't seem to know who he is so he just sits on the shelf. If I can pick one of for you let me know.

I have noticed that as well. In general, I have many issues with Hasbro and the stuff they pull off. Most notably the job they did with the Indiana Jones figures (I have all of them). Even MORE expensive then the star wars figures and yet theyre worse quality. Then they do stuff like re-release the same cargo truck a month later but with a cloth canopy instead of a plastic one. Bogus. I feel like they had a good direction, i mean the concept for the figures is good (despite them not having Toht or the Nazi Mechanic...big mistake) yet I would have to sift through racks and shelves and containers to find one figure that had a decent paint job or didnt have his fedora or AK47 bend out of shape because of the bad packaging. And just ONE of those figures was $7+. Big disappointment.

I totally agree. Really bad planning on the part of Hasbro. If it makes you feel better though, here in Japan the figures go for $13.00 a pop!

I hear you.  That was my biggest beef when they released the Mandalorian training sergeants multi-packs through Entertainment Earth.  It was pretty cool, but a big let down at the same time.  Especially after all the buildup for these things.  A couple of the males torsos are new molds, but the rest or Jango molds (except for all the heads, of course).  And the two females were totally new molds, but both of them use the same basic body mold, so essentially, it's the same figure with different capes, heads, and paint jobs.  Even the black ARC troopers in the set are just repaints of the ARC Trooper Alpha mold.  Even the new Tobi Dala and Fenn Shysa figures are repaints, as was the "Jawa's of Doom" w/ Sarlaac goop, comic book version of Boba Fett.  So, yeah, I completely understand, dude.  I'm hoping with the release of the new "Super Trooper" and "Protype" versions of the Kubrick figures, that they'll at least make a "Super Trooper" version of Fett in the regular series of figs.  That's a repaint they could get away with, but only if it comes complete with a Star Wars Beach Towel hanging off of his shoulder.

And you're right, a Prototype, with the yellow and rust colored gauntlets would be pretty cool.  Never thought about it until you said something.  I did mention something to my wife one time, when I was looking at my stuff on my Fett shelf, about noticing that the majority of the larger 10 to 12 inch Fett figures tend to be in the Empire color Scheme, but the majory of the statues and smaller figures (along with small figurines) tend to have the Jedi color scheme armor paint job on them.

Conspiracy?  I don't know.......

Yeah, right on. The prototype, or as I like to call him-OLDSKOOL-version of BF has always been my favorite and I consider him to be the original. It seems like most folks dig the Jedi version but I think his suit and gloves are too washed out. The first Fett is sooooo damn cool looking and his gloves and color scheme rock. Maybe if anyone is interested we could get a fan favorite petition going and demand that they sculpt a new figure.  I am really shocked that they didn't do it for the 30th ann. series.

Don't mean to show off but this is the Fett figure I want to see made...
