I will give you my rating, once you tell me if the silver/gold is ductape.

(for a visor, you could use a dark peice of plastic, sure itl be hell on your visibility, but with it dark inside the helmet itl be a pain to see into)

actually the silver scratches were painted on by myself but i made the helmet without painting it or anything while i was home sick from school.(made the helmet on the coach but painted the whole helmet on the weekend)and so Adeptus whats your rating????and i bet sombody is wondering on how long it took to build and paint???got up at 9-10:00 and worked on it the rest of the day for 8 days of the week but it still needs a visor.I was told by the dented helmet to make the visor from a welding face sheild grade 5 will that work???ill post pics for yah right now too on my Dc-17

Good job! What's the helmet made of?

I suggest using vellum. Its sort of papery.

its made from poster board then completely paper mached with 4 layers in other words its not very breakable its sorta almost like plastic!

thnx im thinking of using a plastic clear material for the visor and putting on window tint onto it.

That should do nicely, but i suggest, a heavier tint.

Go to the fabric section of your local wal-mart, and you will see two kinds of clear plastic sheets.  one is plain clear, the other has a dark tint.  get the dark tint, cut out two copys of your visor, and attach them both.....that should work pretty well.  if you want to you can even triple layer it.  you'll be able to see through it, and other people won't be able to see in, and it will be somewhat shiny, so it will look like its real.  Does that help?

That should depend on the size, if they have different sizes.

plastic is about a buck for 1' x 6'.  although I'm not sure about whither you should use the plexiglass.....depends on what your helmet is made of, because if the material is too light, the plexiglass will make the helmet want to fall forward.

Oh yeah, good old stuff paper maché...love that stuff, so much fun to make weird things with.  Made a Nefertiti hat out of it a few years ago for Halloween....man my neck was freakin sore by the end of the night trying to keep my head from tipping over backwards.....lol.
