I'm a pretty good looking, pretty successful struggling actor/stuntman/martial artist (i just finished working on the David Mamet film Redbelt and am now basically friends with Randy Couture, Tim Allen, Joe Mahntaynea (sp), Jean Jock Machado (sp), Ray "bom bom" Mancini (sp), Mike Goldberg and others).  I also lOVE Boba Fett.

My life is good.  Real good.  My problem is my girl won't except how much I love Boba Fett.  I'm a big collector and I have seen the ones where Boba's in them like thirty or forty  times, at least!  She thinks that I don't care about her as much as I care about Fett.  I tell her that i have way more pictures of her on the walls than I do of Boba. I have asked my good friend Jhimmy Smits (sp?), who I worked on the CBS television show "Cane" with, what he thinks I should do.  But i figure you guys would be good to ask.

Any  ideas?

Dan

well if you just talk about Boba Fett 24/7 that could make some one beleive the you care more about Boba then Her. Maybe tone down on the Fett while around her, But dont let anyone take away your love for Fett EVER!!

I think maybe if she's intentionally coming between you and Boba Fett, then she might not be Ms. Right. You might need a mate that shares the same passion as you.

Try and and show her why you love Fett so much, adding a little McDonalds in the mix wont hurt!

"Maybe tone down on the Fett while around her"

I respectfully disagree.  Any girl that stands between you and the Fett needs to be kicked to the curb.  Have you tried casting AMORG on her?

damn I hope Aaron shuts down the sign up thingy for a little while. Theres not exactly many women who are fans of star wars and or boba fett, it aint hard to tone down it would be sorta selfish not too.

You'd be surprised, there are a lot of female fans. About half the message board population is female, me being one of them ;)

Jesse are you saying he shouldn't be himself around his girl?  Kinda lame, IMO.

interesting the ways things can be perceived. Toneing down isnt not being yourself, its maybe goings 50/50 with talking about star wars and talking about what the girl wants to talk about, rather then maybe 80/20.

Good advice...keep it coming

Mel brings up a good point. There are chics that dig Fett, so go find one and sneak around with her on the side. You get the best of both worlds!

That is one of the worst possible advices. There is absolutely no excuse to cheat on your wife.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Miba is right. Getting caught is hell. You've got to be VERY sneaky. WWFD? (What would Fett Do?)

September 23, 2007 10:23 am #

Good point Foba.  WWFD?  I think he would cheat.  My girl's out of town for a few days.  I'm calling an old booty call right now.  Let you know how it goes.

Actually, Boba finds it morally disgusting to have sex before marrige. This was stated in Tales of the Bounty Hunters.

take it easy baby take it as it comes

Post what he wrote, that's interesting, I didn't know that.

I don't think the SW books are acceptable reference materials for his character. they are afterthoughts not from Lucas himself. They don't exist IMHO.

If books and comics were not to be used, half of the conversations here would not exist.

so you're telling me that half the conversations are possibly totally and entirely just heresay and conjecture? that's gotta feel... impotent. :-(

that's possibly worse than the people who talk about Chewie's background.

Is there a sub forum for those that only want to talk about the character (and only factual evidence) on Boba Fett from the original trilogy?

Wait, what did Boba write about cheating?!  Don't leave me hanging.  I recently did stunt work on the new NBC sitcom Chuck (it has Adam Bldwin (sp) the guy that played Jane in Serneity , but Jane's character was aguy so don't think i'm saying anything rude.) so i'm used to hanging off stuuf.  Just don't keep me hanging too long!

Boba never cheated, per se, but he did abandon his family at a young age because of the trouble that you're going through. According to Bloodlines, he left his girl and infant kid because she couldn't accept the lifestyle he was leading. You have to realize that when things come down to it, you're really in the game to look out first and foremost for yourself.

Sure, the idealists will say that you need a cause to die for, or that your family/friends/etc. should come first, but let's be realistic here. She'll start telling you how much you're allowed to think, love, collect about one of our passions and pretty soon, you've relegated yourself to the backseat of the relationship.

Don't cheat. That would make you a horrible person. Just leave her if that's the case, but cheating is cowardly.
And try getting her into Star Wars. Maybe Boba is not her character, but she might find someone else she likes alot.

*clear throat* I'm a chick, I LOVE Star Wars, love Boba and Mandalorians.

Cheating not good. Under any circumstances. I find that it is simply not honorable.

In relationships there is give and take. It helps when you and your S.O. have the same intrests, but it doesn't have to be that way. I bet your not into everything that she is either. Its about balancing the two. My big thing is that don't feel like you have to change FOR people. NEVER change for someone other than yourself. Say you give up Star Wars for her and for whatever reason you don't end up together. You'd be unhappy at the prospect at the beginning and at the finish.  If you relax your stance on Boba Fett do it because you feel like it will make you happy for whatever reason.

I second that about he cheating, NOT a good idea. Off hand I would say  there should be room for some kind of compromise here. If not, I wouldn't be too optimistic about this relationship. It could lead to a slippery slope where she would have you give up almost everything you ever loved. I hope things work out whatever you have to do.
