which non starwars tv/movie/comic/game/book characters would be good mandos?
John Mclane, Jason Bourne, Dutch (from predator) Frank West (dead rising) Scott Mitchel, Sam Fisher, are my guesses for now

The guy from The Transporter; *can't remember his name right now*

His character isn't as good for a Mando in that; but close.  And he's a perfect actor to play a Mandalorian; the voice, the look, etc.  I think HE should have played Jango in Ep. II!  His voice has an accent, but it's a little more like the original Boba in my opinion, too

Wait, his name's coming to me. . . . .  Jason. . . . . . Stathom, Stathen??   *spelling*

It's in your profile settings.  First, find a pic you like and shrink it down to 100x100 or smaller.

Then go to profile  *on the little bar of buttons just below the huge letters that say where you are, like MESSAGE BOARDS if you're there, and just above that little list of what name you're logged in as, when you last visited, and your Rep. points*  and choose.................... can't remember which, so just cycle through untill you see your current avatar.  Your's is set to none right now.  Hit the browse button and find the pic you shrunk and hit the 'Upload' button.  You should be good to go

rc1022 wrote:

You should play Knights of the Old Republic and KOTOR 2; that's where I first learned about and started my love for Mandalorians.

The short historys is that they are a Clan based warrior society who nearly conquored the galaxy 4000 years before the era of the movies.  In the time since then they have generally made bountyhunters and Mercs.  Jango and Boba   *and therefore the entire Clone Army*  are desendants of them we believe, and their armor is Mandalorian.  See here:   http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mandalorian  for more info

Hope this explained all   :)

I dont think the hunters would fit it well....

Also The Terminator is a droid, droids cant be Mandos. And i doubt the ODST have what it takes.

Dude, their second only to the spartans. It takes a special kind of crazy to join them, every mission is a suicide mission due to how their inserted. So some mandos may not have what it takes :P

going on suicide missions doesnt make them any good. And the only reason there second to spartans is because the UNSC only has three different types of units: Marine, ODST and Spartans.

Why can't droids be Mandos??  Mandalorians are some of the most open minded characters in Star Wars about droids.  Even Obi-Wan sounded prejudice against droids:  "Well if droids could think, there'd be none of us here, would there?" or something like that; while Mandos openly used and loved their droids.  A Basilik got a warrior's funeral when it got deactivated in the old times.  I don't know of a case where a droid WAS a Mando, but I've never heard of anybody saying they COULDN'T be one, either.

Besides, I'd like to see ANYBODY try to tell the Terminator or HK-47 that they couldn't do something they wanted to do    :P

I agree with Ralin.  The Terminator was amazing and besides, he's not full droid, he's a cyber genetic organism. (did i get that right?)  Anyhow, how about some lord of the rings characters.  Legolas and Aragorn seem like they would be good additions to the Mando society.  Hmm, have to think of some more but i'll get back to you guys :D

What the hell does this have to do with 'accepting'?? The guy your talking about is just a stupid Ura-Kai(spelling?) in Sarmans plan. Saying he can be Mandolorain, is like saying a goblin could be a real world Spartan.

Um no actually.  Lurtz was Saruman's prize Uruk.  Skilled fighter.  He could have matched Boromir in swords.  But he was a movie character so we don't know that much besides what he saw.

But it took the King of Gondor to defeat him and he didn't go down without a fight.  He died a Jango death.

McLane would make a funny Mando bountyhunter  :D

bounty:  "You can't hurt me"

McLane: "Oh yeah?  Why not?"

bounty:  "Because you are a bountyhunter and I'm supposed to be taken back alive.  There are rules for bountyhunters"

McLane: "Yeah, that's what Jabba keeps telling me"  *bashes annoying bounty in head with blaster*     :D

And I agree with Sev about Lurtz; he was really something I thought.  He gave Aragorn quite a fight before he kicked the bucket, and died with some real Mando attitude.  He was my insperation to play an Orc on Oblivion   *I know, Sev; not an Orc.  But that's as close as I can get on Oblivion   :D *

Then you misjudge Lurtz.  All Uruks were faster, stronger, smarter, etc.  Orcs were just mindless rabble.  And he shows how smart he is.  He takes Boromir out from a distance.  Any other Orc or Uruk would have blindly charged in as you saw many of them doing.

I don't think the Witch-King or Sauron would make good-mandos.  Sauron is a plotter.  He isn't one who usually goes out and fights.  And they both represent evil.  Because they are.  While Mandos go to who ever has the best offer.
