Before everyone goes nuts on me, i will say the compareson  of the 2.. YES ST has better Tech than SW. BUT the one thing ST don't have is fun, colorfull characters as SW. ST has a lot of dull characters. ST might have more women but in SW the women(leia) would kick there ass in a heart beat.

There is a (Finnish) movie called Star Wreck: in the Pirkinning. A comedy, of course.

  Here's a link:
http://www.starwreck.com/

(The site is also in English. Great.)

I've never been into Star Trek, but... In the Pirkinning is awesome.

Star Wars wins, of course. Unless you count Star Wreck.

I never got into Star Trek so I can't really compare, and I think most members of this site will have a pro Star Wars bias :)

No disintegrations, No fun

What makes Star Wars so much better is well theres so many planets and the movies dont take place only on the ship. and on those planets theres cities full of life. On one star trek episode I saw they were in a bard and there was like 3 aliens and they were very bad actors.

Star Trek does not have alot of dull characters. Most of the characters are more real than Star Wars characters. And I highly doubt that Leia could beat Seven, a borg woman from Star Trek who would destroy her. Also we can relate more to Star Trek since it is in our own galaxy and Star Fleet is from Earth. And how can you say Star Trek has dull characters? Each of the races in it have personality's and cultures of their own that are explored more and talked about more in Star Trek. The way humans run their lives are different from the Vulcans which are diffedrent from their cousins the Romulans. The Klingons have their own language that real nerds ACTUALLY LEARNED HOW TO SPEAK, similar to the Mandalorian language now being made.

I guarantee that there are more planets in the Star Trek universe than there are in the Star Wars universe. And the fact that the shows take place on one ship lets you become more familiar with the characters and relate to them better. Thats the type of show it is, following one band of explorers through the galaxy. And what you said about bad actors, Star Wars is complete with its own bad acting. Hayden Christenson (spelling)wasn't exactly an award winning preformance. Ppl think that you can easily compare and contrast Star Wars and Star Trek because their both in space and stuff, the truth is their both very different and cant be compared so easily. Ones a show and the other is a movie for instance. That makes a huge difference. In movies you must cram characters personality's in there to make space for the rest of the plot, however in shows you can sacrifice that because you have a hundred other shows in which the characters personality will be showed. Tech wise, it definitly goes to Star Trek. One word, REPLICATORS. You can create ANYTHING, which solves the problem of food, repair equipment, and anything else your heart desires. Next, Holodecks, not seen anywhere in Star Wars. The most Star Wars has is holograms where they are always blue and flickering. While in Star Trek you can creat whole worlds within the holodecks and they are increadibly realistic. Weaponry, Star wars' snub fighters stand no chance against the Enterprise. As shown in one of those VS youtube videos they are decimated by the ships Phasers and lock-on technology. The enterprises shields are also better than that of a Star Destroyer's as is the Warp drive. All Star Wars ships travel at lightspeed, however Star Trek ships travel at Warp speed which is much faster.Lightsabers however are something unseen in the Star Trek Universe but thats one thing, plus if they ever got their hands on a lightsaber and openedit, examined it then they could create one with the replicators. Phasers vs Blasters, I would have to say Star Trek's phasers are better because they do not require ammo and they have a kill setting with VAPORIZES you upon hit, much like Star Wars' disruptor however smaller, more tactical, and everyone on the Enterprise has one.

phasers need a crispy/ deep fry setting, then you could use it to cook

1Star wars is much more expanded that star trek this is probably due to a bigger fan base.
2Star wars has jango star trek has worf Jango vs Worf. Jango wins

Aagh I dont know why us star wars fans and trekies cant get along, not saying that they always dont. But you really cant compare the two. Star wars is based in the past, Star Trek is in the Future why dont we compare Star Gate to star trek or to star wars, or battle star galactica against star wars . Would we compare Star Trek to Star Wars if star trek was called Space Trek? Its the similarity in names. Although I like star wars better, its not my place to say it beats star trek. If George Lucas is freinds with Shatner I guess I can say Trek aint that bad. BUT I AM NOT A TREK FAN keep that in mind yes yes

to Adeptus I dont think Naboo is a good example for somthing thats impossible...I would've said oooh death star. We are talking about fictional things here its all impossible at this point at time.

well George Lucas being friends with William Shatner helps, it would be more along the lines of friends with Gene Roddenberry.

Spaceballs is a spoof of Star Wars... and a rather damn good one too.

August 1, 2007 3:41 pm #

ok, first star wars ship go at HYPERSPACE which is faster then light,

second, if Jango had his armor (just armor no weapons) he could beat Worf, strength isnt everything.

And this is a question I have always wanted to ask: Phasers uses light to kill right? Which the Borg can adapt too. But blasters use super-charged Plasma too kill a target. How can somthing adapt too that?

i think the death star's destruction was a combination of plot line, the force, and blind luck

Set phasers to stun!  Also the stormtroopers in ANH set their blasters to stun to catch princess Leia, with pretty blue rings!

No disintegrations, No fun

As a SW geek forever. I do like ST. I grew up wathing it. but i won't get into detailes of what is better. But i do agree with Valthonin about bad actors. Like Hayden C. or A.K.A. maniken skywalker. Nuff said. There are great actors and not so great in both but very injoyable. But again SWG4E.

August 2, 2007 3:10 am #

yeah, the blue rings were class!   :D

Well, Star Wars is more Fantasy/Sci-Fi and Trek is very much Sci-Fi, so that may explain the Tech being so different.

Star Trek does have a bunch of good characters. They may not be a Chewie or Yoda, but they're distinctive enough to be good in their own rights.

As for women, Kira Nerys (From DS9) and Seven of Nine (From Voyager) could give our girls a run for their money, with the exception of the Jedi and Sith women.

even though I prefere Star Wars, Trek has its good moments as well.

Spock and all the main characters from TNG vs...what? let's see:

Ep1: whiny Anikan, Jar-Jar, bad writing.
Ep2: whiny Anikan, whiny Boba (i wanna slap George!), love story.
Ep3: whiny Anikan, Mace died, story felt crammed.*
Ep4: whiny Luke. (Ep4 is my fave. :D )
Ep5: not George as the director.
Ep6: ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||, Ewoks (*shudder.*), Boba's "death".

*it felt like, since George only had one movie left, he had to cram everything he could into that last Episode of the saga. throughout the whole movie it felt like that. and what's up with no Boba appearance?!? not even a deleted scene?!?

personally, it's a tie.

Spock rules!
Star Trek: The Next Generation rules!
and
Boba Fett rules!
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (digitally remastered edition) rules!

Star Wars Episode VII: Boba Fett's Revenge
Coming to theaters whenever George Lucas dies.

You can't compare teh two as far as actually char to char exchange.  They exist in separate glaxies, times, and probably universes.

THough all of star wars' ships are bigger, the bad guys badder, and the good guys don't talk in three syllable bursts like Captain "I'm a retard in Tights" kirk.

Star Trek ships dont travel at light speed or hyperspeed, they travel at WARP speed and slipstream speed which beats hyperspeed any day.

Jango could not beat Worf. Worf would not win because of his strength. He is Klingon for gods sakes, he is a warrior also. He has his own form of close quarters combat which he uses alot more than Jango so he is probably better at since Jango is always using his blasters. Worf is always using his form of karate in the episodes.

Also phasers DO NOT use light at all. Look it up.

The bad guys arent necessarily badder, although Darth Vader was very evil he still turned back in ROTJ. Also the Romulans are some pretty evil !@#$%$#@ (that can mean whatever you want it to btw)
Dont judge all the Star Trek characters by one like Kirk made in the 60s Captain Picard is very intelligent as well as Spock of course.
