Lizzie froze mid step as she heard the scream, "I'm going to kill you! You killed my kin you filthy freak!"
Tilting her head slightly, Lizzie was able to roughly gage where the voice had come from. She had no idea who or what had yelled but she decided to check it out.
She ran with lithe steps and barely a noise was made and Lizzie strode through the trees. She stopped as she saw a man hunched over a now warm corpse. Lizzie paused, unlike many others of her kind she was not hasty to rush towards a killing. The scent of blood touched her nose and she knew it was no mortals' blood, it was another vampires'.
Lizzie lent back into the shadows of the tree to watch the man. The breeze touched her nose and Lizzie also detected the faint scent of werewolf. It explained how the man could kill so quickly. No mortal would have had a chance against an older vampire. Lizzie could tell the vampire was old as she hadn't disintegrated immediately.
It was then that the breeze changed direction slightly and the werewolf stood, his nose lifted to the air. It was obvious that he had caught her scent. Lizzie was just thankful that he wasn't in his wolf form, as he would have found her in seconds.
She didn't move, instead she stayed still against the large tree. She closed her eyes and allowed her mind to search the area. Lizzie had always had a the ability to "see" with her mind. When she had been turned into a vampire it had only increased the ability. She didn't really understand it. All she knew was that she could locate those around her by hearing their thoughts and feeling their presence.
She ducked just in time as a large fist slammed towards her.
"I didn't come here to fight." Lizzie stated though she doubted it would make a difference.
"You're a vampire, you need to die." Came the response, along with another fist.
Again Lizzie dodged. "I only came to see who had died."
"A friend of yours," the werewolf snarled and lunged again.
Lizzie dropped and shifted to the right. "No, I just wanted to make sure she was dead."
The werewolf grinned at that, "Oh she's dead."
Lizzie pulled her silver bracelet from her left hand and wrapped it around her right fist. "I have no dispute with you. I'm only here to kill a vampire by the name of Carlos Vasquez."
"I don't care," said the werewolf.
"No, a beast like you wouldn't." With that Lizzie managed pivot behind him and smack him on the back of the neck with the bracelet. He cursed and held his neck as Lizzie ran back into the darkness.
