Topic: I'm confused by this fan club...

Is it just this site?

Do I get a snazzy membership card?

This is just a site, but it offers a forum, the main site, the archives, news, an RSS, and a chat room.

This probably belongs in General.

Membership benefits:

-argue with fellow members
-waste time
-prove how much of the Fett u got in yor soul
-agree on how Boba Fett looks like a bucket head

and dats not all if u mail me 20 bucks i'll send u a collectors "Boba Fett Lint". It's a piece of lint that is an actual replica of the piece of lint that u can see on Fett's helmet in ESB

Certainly a vibrant community filled with a lot of creative ideas.

But, PresidentJuggernaut, yes, this is a free, online community since 1996. Catch up on our history or just explore the site.

we share our wit and clownishness as often as possible.
and save for a few hic-ups its a very supportive community.

This is a great site. So well put together. I can't believe its fan made.

We *may* do the t-shirt thing. I saw a great effort by The Dented Helmet at C4. Members contributed to the costs and it covered expenses. The Boba Fett Fan Club is a not-for-profit site.

yeah, i am a member of a few other sites and it is quite venomous at times...fett fans r a very descerning, clever bunch, i too am pleasently surprised by the opinions and colorful characters that come out of the "woodwork" here.

ARC, if you have any ideas, send them my way. Just don't want to have "Boba Fett" on them, so we're off-the-hook with licensing.

Fett's image or name could not be used on a fan-made shirt, as they are copy righted.

i think the image is fair game...so long as the colors r not exactly a match. (ala-family guy-fett in peters beard)
they didnt have permission to put fett in the cartoon so the tweaked the colors.
the name yes cannot be used. but im uncertain if you could put bffc?

BFFC and "As you wish" were used before.

We also joke around with: "As we wish," "He's no good to us dead" and "What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to us."

Couldn't we just do a T-visor (without the entire helmet) with BFFC under it?

Or people could just print the club image on a transfer (you can get transfer paper at any office supply store) and make their own shirts, and Lucasfilm could not sue because no one would be making a profit.

I would be helluh proud of my BFFC t-shirt. It seems to me the subject of this thread has changed, however.

Not necessarily; we are still talking about what this site does, though the original function in question hsa changed.

Volk-Ordo, "BFFC" and "As You Wish" are fine. And there's no "rights" purchase here. We're playing by the rules and keeping to ourselves.

As for self-made stuff, we could design a print-friendly "membership card," as PresidentJuggernaut first asked. The banners haven't been a big hit, since I bet a lot of you don't have web sites. We'll consider the money clip.. ;) ..and keep thinking of (and acting upon) ideas.

draco, the CafePress stuff was a bust. We can do better. I think we'll just go for higher quality stuff. Because this is BFFC. :P

That would be funky. It would be nice if you could edit your name into the card as well.

If there were hats and t-shirts available then I would get them if there were ladies t-shirts available and most colours except white.

Also I take bags out when I go shopping (better for the environment by saving using plastic bags) so I would also buy BFFC cloth bags (I think they would look really funky)

Oh yeah I ment to ask permission in the last message I sent you for permission to put your banner on my site,and it would be cool to have bags and backpacks with the logo to!

Wait?! I totally think I'm a geek. A big one actually.  I've had several people tell me so.

As for the print out idea, that would be fun. I like the Devil Girl's idea of putting them on the bags. It would be something different than shirts. Speaking of shirts, though it is not a BFFC shirt, they do have a Boba Fett shirt at Hot Topic.

t-shirts with the BFFC logo would rok!
