I loved it! :D While other people moan and groan about the alleged lack of character development let me remind you that this movie does cram a lot of events/situations into 2 hours and 13 minutes and it's all awesome! :D I just read on Vulture.com that the reshoots for Rogue One beefed up three of the characters, Bodhi Rook, Captain Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso. In the original version of the movie you see a young Jyn and then you see her being interrogated by the Rebels on Yavin 4, but in the reshoots they have some Rebels busting her out of prison on Wobani which I think is a really cool scene. Bodhi is introduced earlier in the theatrical version being led to Saw Gerrera on Jedha. And finally Captain Andor is introduced earlier on shooting that informant in the back on the Ring of Kafrene Trading Post which is a pretty strong scene and pretty much sums up the complexity of his gray area character. The writers of the reshoots then goes on to say that even if you do watch the deleted scenes there isn't a whole lot to them. People we got an awesome, spectacularly fun film and I'm extremely happy with it! :D

Great review, ctxboy1981!

The prison bust definitely added some drama. Think they made a good call with that eleventh hour change-up.

How many times have you seen the film?

I've seen it 12 times and I'll probably see it 12 more times. It's safe to say that Rogue One has turned the original Star Wars trilogy into the original Star Wars quadrilogy. It kicks the crap out of The Force Awakens by one hell of a lot.

I had a few nitpicks that very quickly faded away. I thought that Darth Vader didn't look all that perfect at first but then again he didn't look perfect in A New Hope either. In the original Star Wars movie his helmet never seemed to stay put, first it was down over the top of his eye goggles when he's on the Tantive IV, then it moves back a bit a little later on in the movie and then when he's in his cockpit taking down Rebel Pilots during the Battle of Yavin his helmet is way back on his forehead. I also thought that Rogue One could've used more of that white-haired creature Moroff, you don't see much of him and he's one of the most exotic looking creatures I've ever seen in a Star Wars movie. All in all Rogue One just keeps getting better upon repeat viewings whereas The Force Awakens kinda fizzled out.

Did anybody notice how Darth Vader was sort of swaggering instead of just walking?

When you see Darth Vader walk it's in slow-motion and that could be the reason that he has sort of a swagger. I absolutely love the Vader's Castle scene! :D

Excellent review ctxboy1981, I enjoyed your opinions.
I believe this film was the live action war movie that the Star Wars cinematic universe needed for stability in order to continue on to the new generations. In order to truly present the dangers, powers, and threat of the Empire right before ANH, this film waited until the world was able to technologically and financially produce these MASSIVE realistic warzones that brought true grit to the screen. I completely agree that it would have been amazing to see more of the rebellion's Moroff creatures. I think I might have seen three seconds worth of a Moroff.

My mother is obsessed with Darth Vader just like the rest of the world, and she actually pointed out to me that his walk was wrong, and that he was walking like a chick. haha! That castle scene was on among many that gave me chills. Vader is given another cheesey line, but not too cheesey.....just right. As far as the end with Vader.......I had a fully erect nerd boner!
Although I believe they could have made Vader a little more hardcore, I understand they're reasoning not to. They wanted it to flow cooperatively with ANH's version of Vader. The end result was extremely effective and I turn into a giddy little schoolgirl everytime I get to the end. haha!

This film was two hours and thirteen minutes, and yet to me, it did not feel as if the movie I was watching was that long. Every moment kept me captivated and I have seen the film three time since. Rogue One was pressured to be jamPACKED with so many leadups to ANH with such a nostalgic, yet "new" atmosphere to it, and it worked tremendously.
I love the fact that they did not have a scroll as well. It would have been a little redundant to put a scroll in a movie about a scroll. :P lol
Although Star Wars is ultimately a "Space Opera"......this stand-alone film blew my breath away.
Rogue One truly puts the 'Wars' in Star Wars.

Great review Dinobonanno92. I'm glad that you enjoyed Rogue One so much! :D I read online that on an Australian DVD website it's stating that the Blu-ray is slated for an April 28th release but that's for both the regular and 3-D editions of the Blu-ray I'm guessing, even though this other source claims it will come out on April 4th. Disney is probably waiting until the 28th to release both versions but I think that April 4th for the regular Blu-ray and April 28th for the 3-D Blu-ray sounds more logical. I seen on Youtube from a guy calling himself Mike Zeroh that there was several seconds cut out of the Darth Vader slaughter scene. The deleted scene consists of him killing the last Rebel soldier as the poor guy lies on the ground screaming all from Vader's red-tinted point-of-view with some Stormtroopers running up behind Vader after that. That excised scene takes place after that last door closes. I also heard somewhere that there was a scene involving Vader putting his robot arms and legs back on as well as his suit, mask and helmet right after the fluid drains from the Bacta Tank. Hopefully we'll get to see those deleted scenes on the Blu-ray or maybe just a Darth Vader featurette. All in all I just can't wait to bring Rogue One home! :D
