I've been thinking and reading up a lot lately, and have found that Star Wars is very much a right-wing conservative saga. I think Star Wars isn't very political in its agenda, but still the values and style illustrate this idea, as these articles show:

A few more points to note: In a deleted scene from the original film, Biggs Darklighter describes how the Empire is nationalising commerce and soon, people will find they work to serve the greater Empire(a.k.a. the Empire is Communist, taking away people's economic freedom and initiative for the collective). In the novelisation to the original film, an Imperial Officer(one of the ones in the 'board room' scene) refers to the Rebels as reactionaries(a wood for extreme conservative uterly determined to reverse any left-wing change).
Then of course, there's this:

But I wouldn't read too much into that. It's just imagery, and after all, the Imperial Officers uniforms resembled the SS, and of course, 'Stormtroopers'.
So have a read of these articles. They all seem very astute and indicate the very right-wing values of Star Wars.
