As a long time member of these forums, I've always noticed that the BFFC has had a substantial amount of female members and that a good chunk of our most frequent posters on the forums are female. And for those of you who may not know, I am also female. ;P

So I guess I'm just interested in asking: what is it about Fett that has captivated so many loyal fan(girl)s? Males are more than welcome to join in the discussion as well, but as a female I guess I'm just interested in knowing why other females have taken an interest in a character like Fett too.

In my case, I guess it was the armor and enigma factor that had me interested right off the bat. Heck, many males probably started liking Fett for the same reason I did: He just looks frakkin' awesome and badass. When I found out that he didn't actually die in the Sarlacc, my interest escalated, and that's when I started reading the expanded universe and gaining a much broader knowledge of all things Fett. And to this day my "fictional crush" has remained, haha.

I dubbed the topic "Bad Boy Image" because there's that saying that all girls love a bad boy and want to "change them." But I don't necessarily like Fett for that reason. Sure, I guess the notoriety makes him a bit exciting, but I've never seen Fett as particularly bad or evil. So for me it's really not about that. I think that I really liked the fact that he's sort of a lone wolf who doesn't need anyone to complete them, especially since when I was in high school I didn't really fit in or have many friends (so I really related to his character during those years).
Even learning about his messed up past and failure as a father and husband never deterred me from liking his character less. In fact I find that his flaws make him more interesting and human. Even when he was fleshed out to the point of having his "daddy-complex" in the Legacy of the Force series I just found his attachment to Jango adorable. :P

Back to the "enigma factor," I am always obsessed over characters that have a concealed identity/face. Yes, kind of weird. o_o;; I don't know why at all, especially since they're usually male. xD

So those are just some of my reasons, haha. xD
Any of the other girls brave enough to speak up? Please don't leave me hanging, lol.

I agree that the enigma factor was a huge draw for me. I love masks especially a cool looking mask like Fett's. But if I was brought in by his mysteriousness, I stayed for his personality. (And I also blame K.W. Jeter.) If he existed, he'd probably piss me off but I love watching him play people like a game. That's really not something you should like about a person but that's the luxury of fiction for you.

Well, as a fellow fangirl, I totally agree that the bad boy image is very alluring.  But I also like the fact that he isn't exactly a bad person, in fact he has morals and believes in justice.  Also the armor helps a bunch, the mystery of not getting to see what's under all of it is sexy.  Even his few lines in the movie just make him sound sexy.  His whole personality is awesome and I love how he works.  Haha, yes I totally just revealed a huge crush on Boba LOL :P

I have to join in here as I have a HUGE thing for Boba. I mean, if he came to my door saying he had a bounty on me, I'd just let him take me ;)
I think it started because of the armor. I mean, the man is such a mystery. I wondered what he would look like without all that armor! Then I started reading the KW Jeter books, and I have to agree with fairyblood; his personality is so intriguing. He is so smart and cunning, planning ahead, and there were so many times I thought he was totally screwed, and then found out he was way cooler/smarter than I thought! When I started reading the Legacy series, I liked him even more because of how Karen Traviss wrote his character. He was so worried about Mirta and Sintas. It was touching.
I think the other thing is that he's so manly and brave. And in Invincible, Jana Solo describes him as smelling like jet pack fuel. I can't resist a man who smells like that!
Okay, so yeah, I have now embarrassed myself being a total nerd/fangirl.

But the chase is the fun part!

Yeah, maybe I'd run so he could use his skills to grab me in a dark alley...
Okay, this is quickly bordering on inappropriate. ;)

Buahahahah. It's okay girls this thread is for us and this type of discussion. xD

I most have accidentally stickied this though... and since it's not exactly hugely popular, I shall un-sticky.

I think another attractive part of him is that he'd never take you/me up on that offer. "Sex between those not married is amoral." --Boba Fett, Tales of the Bounty Hunters. You always want what you can't have, right? =P

For me it was the visage and the mystery. I didn't really become a fan until I read "The Bounty Hunter Wars" trilogy. I remember waiting for the second book to come in at the bookshop, nagged the poor woman there every day until it turned up.

I loved the fact that Boba Fett was such an enigma. He never gave anything away by showing any emotion and had such strength of character. What can I say, I love strong characters and anti-heroes.

I liked the Jaster Mereel back story and was disappointed when it was replaced with Boba being a clone. I guess I preferred the idea of Boba being a one and only.

I think his bad boy image just comes with the territory of him being a bounty hunter after the protagonist, Han Solo and Leia, in the Star Wars saga. George Lucas could've done better than making him a clone the Jaster Mereel back story would've been a far better back story.

I fascinated by his being an enigma and made up stories about him in my mind as a child.

It was the armor and that he was so enigmatic. His voice had a large part in it too. What probably really make me like him was his scream when he fell into the sarlacc pit. Don't know why. As a female, I have always like the bad boy image. Especially Fett since he has Morals. I have always wanted a large bounty posted on my head so Fett would take me and I could, I don't know, possibly see into his dark past. ha ha! I've always wanted to write a newspaper article about him. That would give me awesome material.

I've loved Boba ever since I saw him for the very first time in The Empire Strikes Back. I'm not really sure why. o_o I just tend to relate to a guy who's a loner like me. He's so confident, speaking back to Vader's face. And he doesn't even get Force-choked for doing it! The character's always been epic. I love him.

I even love the new Boba (meaning Jango's cloned son). I think he's adorable as a child. And the fact he looks like Jango just makes me love him more (I've had a crush on Temuera Morrison since I saw him in Once Were Warriors, so shush. xD). It makes him human, yet still keeps an air of mystery. I mean. Why the heck does he choose to have all of these different stories floating around about himself? He keeps hidden. No one knows he's a clone. Just us fans. And he's so good at what he does. ^_^;
