Topic: Feature / Content Requests?

This site has been a work-in-progress since 1996. It's grown into a very full site. But, I'm curious how to take it to another level:

- What needs improvement?
- What would you like to see, be it a feature or tool or type of content?
- What social features would make the site more fun?

For example, Bounty attempts to catalog every Boba Fett item since the first action figure. Would a checklist / wishlist be useful? To chart what you've got, what you want? Maybe it could be handy for friends, relatives, parents, special someones to know?

Thanks for posting any ideas you've got. Let's hear 'em. :)

How about banners, and increasing Sig sizes?

Keep the text sigs, they're nice.

On Bounty, the wishlist/checklist sounds like a great idea. CargoBay at SW.com was doing that, but I don't know if they're still updating it. I doubt it. But I loved going through it and checking off everything I had.

I don't really have any requests right off, everything seems to be going good.

Well, at least increase the text Sig size. Two lines really isint enough.

My one request would be about the PM bins. Most active members are difficult to contact because at only 30 PMs maximum the inbox gets full quickly. If you pushed that limit to, let's say, 50, do you think it would slow down the site too much? It's only text.

And people might be a bit lazy at cleaning their PM bins, too, as it has to be done *message by message*, so maybe a "delete multiple messages" command would be good there too.

A poll making tool sounds like trouble. If the kids come back next summer, imagine what people like Green or Glopino would do with a poll-making tool. Does the site have that much room? Otherwise I'm not against it.

Polls could drag attention to threads like this one ( What changes do you want on the site? a), b), c)... ) and help start new discussions. Maybe they could be reserved to the Admin and Mods to make sure we don't get 100 of them by the end of the first week they're on.

Yes, reserved for mods is a good idea.

Finally, a good reason to be a Mod :P

I guess most everything got said about everyone already. So many opinions of all kinds were spoken already. What is there to ask now?

This is related to another topic and the idea seemed to fall silent to most people's ears but I am still thinking it would be cool to get a club exclusive figure produced. I know that is not a website suggestion but I am just thinking it might be another way to legitimize the club in the bigger picture. I actually shot off an email to Hasbro a while back explaining that we are a club and that we were interested in doing an exclusive figure etc, but I didn't mention anything about Boba Fett or the BFFC - just to be on the safe side - anyway, I got nothing in the way of a response.
I think the site is pretty solid the way it is I guess I am thinking more in terms of solidifying the community through something tangible.

I think that's part of the reason we've been so silent here lately.

I admit I haven't really contributed much lately, and that many of the posts I have made are small and probably really weird. In my defense however, I'm just getting well again from a bad case of the flu. Swine Flu actually, I ended up being confirmed for it. ><;

That would be TOTALLY COOL! Except I lack funds right now for such a thing. >< Oh well, I say go foreward with it anyways.

I think you do well at contributing Cecilia. And I don't think your posts are any weirder than anyone else's, lol.

I don't know if the BFFC still has enough people coming to turn commercial though. I think it'd need much more traffic first. Last year it would have been good.

Cin, I'm aware of all the ideas posted throughout the years. Looking now for multiple votes in one direction versus another. Also, we're never going to "turn commercial." This is not-for-profit since 1996.
