Trailer took forever to load here. Looks really cool, game seems tough as hell, lol. Will have to try it.

Went to EB Games, and they told me Assassin's Creed just doesn't exist for the Wii. :(:(:(

Wish I could afford a new console. My eldest's getting a DSi as soon as I have a job, but that's it for a while.

Is the PS3 or 360 worth their price? Which one is better?

Every HUUUGE gamer I know says PS3 cuz graffics are supposedly better and it's a blue ray player on the cheap.

IMO I'd get 360 cuz it has way more games, xbox live is way more popular than sony online or whatever, and I think you can get the xbox cheaper. Plus if that thing breaks they take it right back and fix it from what I hear.

provided u still have the warranty on it, they fix it.

I wouldn't get the PS3. It doesn't have very many exclusives and the ones that it does have aren't very good looking IMO. Anyways, it only looks really good if you have an HDTV and get the more expensive version.

....Supposibly. Most of the graphics I've seen on the PS3 are very dull looking. And brown. o_O; We live in a world of incredible colours, and Sony gives us brown.

I would get a 360 over a ps3. I have neither, but I've played on my brother's 360. The ps3 is way more expensive, and the games don't look very interesting. Good graphics, yeah, but where's the fun?

when GTA 4 came out for everything I knew ps3 was in trouble, rockstar was solely for playstation back in the day but sony lost that exclusive game to 360 and others

I have three of the other GTA games for X-Box, it's nothing new that they're released for that.

I have PS3 and I love it. Personally, I hate the clunky Xbox controller and I mean the online may be better but you're paying for online access which only takes more out of your pocket. Online on PS3 is completely free unless you purchase downloadable content for a game or such.
It really depends on were your loyalties lie, I suppose. If you're into Halo and Gears FPS games, then get Xbox. But if you want to play Square Enix games such as FINAL FANTASY XIII VERSUS and Kingdom Heart III you will want to have PS3 for sure.

Anyway, if it's for your son he will probably want a 360. But as for me I'm happy with my ps3 and it's sexy sleekness. I don't even have an HDTV but the graphics look amazing to me.

Better graphics tend to appeal me. The 360 has more games? Which ones?

I recently got into a bunch of Valve games.  A friend loaned me Half-Life and I'm still trying to decide whether Half-Life or Half-Life 2 is better.

I find that the difference in graphics is extremely small.  I guess the 360 does have a few more family orientated games than a ps3.  And IMO some of the better console specific games.  So it comes down to main game choice.

Although another thing to consider is that the ps3 uses blu-ray so you can watch blu-ray movies off it which in itself is a great deal.  Getting a gaming console and a blu-ray play er for about $400 Canadian is a good deal considering new Blu-ray players are $200 and up.  But it's nice to have a TV to back up the good graphics.

So ultimately, it's up to you.  :P

I tried both systems, and am still unable to decide. Most of the ppl I know have 360's though, and daughter's friends too, so I might go for that, just for game swapping's sake. I don't think we know anyone with a PS3. Fun that it reads Blu-Rays, but I don't feel like I *have* to get a device for them yet. And when they kill DVDs, Blu-Ray players will be cheaper.

Anyone has an opinion about the DSi?
I'm about to get one for my eldest, but I'm not sure if it's a good buy.

I've got one and I like it a lot. It boils down to, do you have GBA games, and do you still play them? If so, if you don't have anything else to play them on other then a DS, then no. If you have other mediums to play it on though, then yes. If it's a non factor, then go for it.

Thanks. We do have GBA games, but we already have the normal DS (we each have our own, her and me). I wonder if it's of any use to get the DSi if you already have two DS.

I was thinking of getting her an XBox 360 instead, but she doesn't seem interested, oddly enough she'd like the DSi more, lol.

if you've got the DS, no need to get the DSi, unless you want to take pictures.

I would say 360 over PS3. Alot better games.

I have some new favorites.  Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is awesome on the Wii (a really good work out to if you get as into it as I do)

Gran Turismo (Not sure I spelled that right)  a great game for PS3 and the graphics are super.

And of course Left 4 Dead on xbox is really fun.

Lately I am back into creating content for The Sims 2, so I guess I could mention that, but it's rather for creating. Going back in the game to play, it's fun to see my old characters again but I never play for as long as I used to.

Else there's some old console games I like. Mostly RPGs. And one non-RPG about ships and Piracy which is called "Uncharted Waters : New Horizons". It is kinda complicated and has a lot of statistics you need to understand and consider all the time while you play, but it keeps the rational half of my brain stimulated, lol.

On the Wii we only have a few Guitar Hero games. I haven't played that in a while now. CA, I'll have to show you the Mii I made of Heath Ledger's joker, he's creepy, lol. I made a few more too which could be worth showing. I need to find out how to take a snapshot of them.

Terra, are you going to stick with Sims 2 or upgrade to 3? I pretty much stopped playing 2 pretty much the same time 3 came out. I never really played 2 anyway, I just built houses. I'm actually playing 3. And it's a lot of fun!

Hey there Miba, how are you? I'd love to see your Sims 2 houses, if you did just that, I bet you became great at it. :)

I tried Sims 3 once. I think I even posted about it on this very topic forever ago as "Cin Vhetin", which is my other name here.

I hate the graphics in Sims 3, I can't get used to look at my sims faces and only see pillows everywhere. Their tools for making faces seem to be just circles and spheres, I hate the lack of angles! Maybe I didn't play with the options enough, I don't know, lol. Call me "resistant to change" if you will, lol, I am. In this case, totally.

The only positive points I found for sim-making is the option of making wider faces and various body sizes. It's really the single good point that I found Sims 3 has over Sims 2. With Sims 2, wide faces are a hell to make, lol. I tried to make Jack Nicholson, then 2 american actors starring in CSI-NY, all with wide heads and faces, and they are all near-impossible to make without some really deforming serious edits.

I don't play very much anyway, I rather create stuff. It's easier for Sims 2 than for Sims 3, even if only because I already know how to make content for Sims 2. I hate the in-game editable textures in Sims 3. Most of their textures are too uniform and all the same. It is not graphically as flexible and interesting as it is in Sims 2 if you make your own textures.

I am really having a lot of fun creating Sims 2 stuff right now. I have bubbling inspiration! I seem to "eureka" faster than I can create, lol. As long as this will be, I think I will just follow my gut feeling and keep the groove going. :)

I am glad that you passed by, though. I had missed talking to you! :)

I got Sims 3 for Christmas and I love it. Granted I never did get Sims 2, so for me it's a huge upgrade. Yeah the faces are kind of weird, but I've gotten used to it. I hope to get the High End Loft and Abitions expansions sometime before this year ends.

I wish people would make more custom content for Sims 3 though. There's not a whole lot in existance right now, and since I love special, awesome, customization.... =/

My favorite video game right now is Fallout 3. Not too excited about New Vegas though. My overall favorite video game is probably Mass Effect.

Yes, I know all about MTS2. I've tried MTS3, lol. Unfortunately, all I came up with was Aperture Science posters for my Sim house. =/ I'm sure more people will come up with more stuff though as time goes on. My best friend has our Sims (and the Sims of our characters) living together in a dorm filled with all sorts of awesome posters and prints he found on MTS2. I'd really like to have our house (occupied by my version of our Sims and the Sims of our characters) filled with that same sort of awesome stuff someday, too.

Also, Portal. I love that game! I had to reformat my computer last month, and ever since it's been throwing a tantrum every time I try to play it. Even so, it's easily among my favorite games. I love all of GLaDOS' lines! And I love the song "Still Alive". I even made my mom listen to it the other day, and she's liked the song too!

LOL at computer throwing tantrums
hey try MTS3 again, it has more content for Sims 3 now. Whenever I go and look for stuff for Sims 2 I have to browse through a whole ocean of Sims 3 stuff, lol. I'm really not about the play that game. Until I am forced to! lol. When MTS2 stops accepting Sims 2 content, I suppose as a creator I will have to switch games, but even then :P

A virus hid itself in my Sims 2 files so we had to uninstall the game and get rid of it all in order to get rid of the virus and I hadn't played it in the months after 3 was out so I just never reinstalled it. So I don't have any of my houses, lol.

I never really got into modding or anything, I have taught myself a little bit for 3, like I made a pattern. It's black with a red mythosaur skull. So far I've only used it as a rug in front of a fireplace in a mansion I named Mando Getaway or something, it's supposed to be where some Mandalorian would go to rest up and feel luxurious. It's not finished yet, though.

And I just started playing Fallout 3 a few weeks ago, it's awesome!

But that also reminds me, am I the only one who gets disoriented and then motion-sick from playing first person games? I keep having to stop Fallout 3 to take a break due to motion-sickness. Same with Portal, oh, Portal makes me very motion-sick. And other various games too, I've just about conquered my Battlefront 2 motion-sickness, that was the first game I really played first person in for long periods of time. I also really do not like not seeing my feet! I don't know where I am, I just feel like a floating camera that sometimes have hands or arms or guns or something. I figure the motion-sickness is just something that will pass if I keep at it long enough. But that still doesn't help with my not having feet! And, yes, I know you can play Fallout 3 in 3rd person but my husband says this reduces your accuracy when shooting.

Always felt like the perspectives aren't quite right in first-person games. Like the character's vision is never completely like a human vision, and after a while, indeed it gets noticeable. People don't believe me when I tell them that, but see, you noticed it too.

Sucks for that virus. Wish I could have seen your houses. Oh well, if you ever take pics of the new ones once they are finished, I bet it will look great as well. Would love to see that.

I really enjoyed Star Wars Bounty Hunter, even though it was Jango Fett... it was a great game despite the absence of Boba. There was a cheat code for Star Wars Jedi Starfighter to pilot the Slave 1... good times. I'm mostly a Metal Gear fan, which should come to no surprise.

I finally unlocked Slave I in Lego Star Wars 2. xD So awesome. I'm kinda too terrible at video games to have a favorite, really. But I look forward to playing Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Even though I will probably die constantly like I do on Battlefront. e.e;

Lol Sims. I played that forever ago. Then I just got tired of it. All I ever seemed to do was eventually get tired of them and invent ways to make them go away. <<; All of my houses were haunted. ^_^;

They have a ton of Lego games for the Playstation and PS2. Lego Indiana Jones. Lego Star Wars. And I don't have any pictures of it. My friend has it now. Maybe I'll see if she'll take some of it for ya.
