I don't have a cellphone. It's just another fad I don't care about. Twitter seems, to me, to invite spam, but I haven't had a lot of exposure to it so I might be wrong.

I like Twitter. I don't get any spam. If you don't want someone to follow you, you can block them. I also think there is a way to make your account private so people have to get permission from you to follow you.

I never got the impression that having a cellphone was a fad... I'm pretty sure they serve more than just "something to do". Either way, you're insane for not having one :D

I never use the phone. I have no reason to use the phone. I don't want people calling me or talking to me. I don't have the need to drive and talk. I don't have the need to talk and shop, I wouldn't want anyone overhearing my personal calls anyway. Not that I get any or want any. I didn't mean that phones are a fad I meant Twitter was anyway. They are good for emergencies, but do I really need to waste a ton of money on a cellphone just in case I might one day break down on the road? Besides if I did break down I'd just do what anyone else did in the days before even 6-year-olds (who have no business owning a phone in the first place) had phones. I don't go randomly driving off into the night on my own. If I'm on my own I'm either on my way to work or on my way home. If I'm with my husband, well, we're in town going to some store or other. I never go anywhere else. If I'm out and about I'm out for a reason and purpose, why would I go to the park if I was going to watch a movie? Am I going to play solitaire while I do the shopping? Besides, knowing me I'd get trapped in the same way my boss did. He gave his number to corporate and now they're always texting him with new rules. I never answer my home phone anyway. It has caller ID and the only numbers I ever answer are my mom, work, my brothers or my sisters. The only time I ever call anyone is when I'm at work and I absolutely need to call corporate or helpdesk or something, and then it takes me about a half hour to 45 minutes of talking myself into doing it before I get up the courage to touch the thing. Other than that I call my husband from work every day to say hi and discuss dinner. I don't mind that people have them. I just mean that me, personally, have no reason to waste my money on something I'd never use and hate to have to lug around everywhere.

And like I said I have no real exposure to twitter, I can see how it would be good for news though.
