November 1, 2009 8:06 pm # I didn't really know where to put this so here it is.
I am still playing N64 Pod racer and Shadows of the Empire because I own a Mac and a lot of computer based games don't release Mac versions still. I used to play the hell out of the Super Nintendo Star Wars games, especially the Empire and Jedi versions. So I am basically a Nintendo fan.
So my question to all of you who are gamers is...
If I am going to buy a consoled system which one has the best selection of SW games? I especially like stuff from the "classic" Star Was series but I want something that I can play a wide variety of SW games on that have good graphics and interesting back stories.
BTW does anyone know if they ever made a Tie simulator for Mac? I checked around the net and couldn't find anything.
Thanks for any feedback...:)

November 1, 2009 8:19 pm # Hmm, my reccomandations.... Well, I have to say definitly pick up the SNES games. Finding the actual cartridges can be hard, but if you don't mind ROMs you can get those. I know for a fact there are Mac SNES emulators, so it shouldn't be a major problem. I only played Shadows of the Empire on the computer, but N64 games suck on a keyboard, so stay away from that if possible. The Battlefront games are good as well, provided you can afford a somewhat current console (PS2 are pretty cheap now...). Beyond them I don't have anything else though.
I hope that helps.

November 2, 2009 11:30 am # Well my favorites were always Republic Commando, Battlefront and KOTOR. Not sure if those are the best overall though.

November 2, 2009 3:50 pm # I'd say a computer, anything that'll be on the xbox will be on a windows. Let's you play Kotor, Battlefront, etc.
Or just stay with Shadows of the Empire, that's a fun game, especially 'Gall Space Station', I think, the one where you fight Boba. It's been a while since I've played.
The last star wars game I played was 'The Force Unleashed' for Wii.
(I'd say this belongs in Serious Geeking or General...)

I have never owned anything but an Apple or a Mac and that will probably not change until the ice caps completely melt. That's why I am looking for a consoled system and games that are good with it. But thanks for the suggestion :)

November 2, 2009 4:50 pm # I'd tell you outright to get a Wii, then, but there aren't very many SW games on it (just one, I belive...) if you're only looking into them (there needs to be more though. Using the Wiimote would be awesome!). You could try investing into a PS2 though. Pretty cheap and larger veriety. I still stand by my picks though.
Yeah see I'm the opposite, I grew up entirely on Windows. Macs just completely confuse me. Even moreso now since, last month aside, the last time I used one was more then 10 years ago.

November 2, 2009 5:28 pm # Oh, yeah I forgot about all them. They didn't get half as much talk or airtime as Force Unleashed, probably why I totally forgot.

You do realize that modern "Macs" are literally just re-branded parts from Seagate, Nvidia/ATI, Intel and Western Digital, marked up to double the price because there's an Apple logo on them, right?
Apple hasn't made their own hardware in over a decade, and now you LITERALLY are getting a PC, and at twice the price. You can even run OS/X on AMD chipsets nowadays, since it's just BSD. (I actually dual booted it long enough to get Apple Genius certification, and I don't have a single piece of "Apple" hardware on this thing)

Knights of the Old Republic(first one) IS the best Star Wars game ever made.
