Topic: where have all the members gone....

this is just kind of a reminiscing topic, nowadays i don't see a lot of my old friends here

anymore. have they moved to something like the mercs or the 501st (i hope not) or have they

just grown weary much as i have of all the bland topics this place harbors. from what i hear, i

entered the bffc just as the golden age of it was declining. i used to be so eager to check the

bffc, i did it constantly. now im like the phantom of the bffc opera....i lurk in the message

boards and leave a haunting note in the chatroom so people know i still exist :P

where did Ralin, Revan, Si, Devil girl, Mel, cujo and Adeptus go, you guys used to rule the

boards with a fist made of awesome!

Well, I'm pretty sure Mel is spending the majority of her time now taking care of her baby. I can't speak for the others though. Me though? Just haven't had much to say, sorry.

I check in every day still.

I come here every day, but there's not really a lot to say right now.

Also, school did just start, so some of the younger ones might be super busy with that. And, yes, Mel is probably busy with her baby.

From what I know, Ralin is busy becoming a fireman and hanging out with his current gf and gang of friends in rl. Revan, I don't know. I thought Si and you chatted on MSN, so you probably know as much as I do. Devil Girl still has her 3 younglings to take care of, her photography, her flat to keep in order. Dunno about Cujo, Mel has her baby, Adeptus is in Germany, online at odd hours.

As for myself, I buried Terra, lol, became Cin Vhetin for personal reasons. Job-hunting keeps me rather busy lately, and I check in everyday but spend very little time here, mostly "on stealth", reading. From time to time when an interesting topic seems alive I post here and there but it's not as often as before.

I think Mel's recent RPG is rather "busy" compared to the rest. I don't see Sev, V_M, Draco, MandoGirl, Appo, Jumpy or Mandalore Hunter much, not sure about them. Masterchief and his gang are gone to other spheres of randomness. There's several others which just disappeared too, apparently.

I noticed the site going slower since a little while. I thought it was the summer and they were having fun in the sun, but now I don't know. People don't seem to be coming back like before. You should ask Adeptus or the other old members if it did that in the past and what happened later.

What about yourself, Regimas? You used to be the creative busy bee. Haven't seen you post much work in progress lately. What keeps you away?

Two words.  Senior year.  I do try to keep up with the RPG that's currently going on.  I may have to make a post soon...

I've been here since 2002, and I'm pretty sure this is the first time it's slowed down this much, to the extent that a whole day can pass without any new posts (except in the RPG section maybe).

i myself have been keeping busy with my armor and props.

i just recently made halo marine armor, an iron man arc reactor and am working on a business out of making halo odst armor.

so i have been keeping busy

i have kept in contact with sev, revan, si and recently cujo. all the rest have just up and disappeared.

i think we need to somehow bring back the golden ages of the site, maybe old members or fresh topics will cure the staleness.

Gotta say... Part of the action here was Masterchief, Glopino, and other similar kids' stuff and our reactions to it. Then Karson Fett's politic/religion debates.

The other old regulars don't seem to have the same kind of freetime anymore, and maybe as no one posts, it seems less appealing for anyone to post at all.

Adeptus and Ralin were good animators, full of ideas and rich in opinions of all kinds.

I tried makin some new topics here and there but they weren't very popular unfortunitly, probably why I haven't made any new ones lately.

That said, once I see it, I'll no doubt make a topic about 9. Actually, I'm surprised no one else has made a topic about it already. No wonder it didn't make first place at the box office last weekend....

If I can just settle the job question, I plan on exploring Flash animations further, among other things. So even if probably very few of them will be Fett-related, I'll post my little experiments in a thread here somewhere in the Creative section, and hope they'll at least be viewed by a few of you, lol.

Well, do we all have banners or something up on our sites? Links to here as part of a sig on another board? Maybe a new member or two who would be willing to post would be nice. I don't really have any other ideas, I already tried with my Halloween thread, but I don't really have anything else.

Well my self plan is simply to post more, and try to fill up the gaping hole that Adeptus left. (though that's pretty much impossible)

If each of us try and post something, it might be a start. We'll see where it leads us. A good motivation would be if people at least check what gets done by others. At best leave comments.

I'm open to adding another 1 or 2 moderators. In the past, it's the moderators who keep new conversations on the rise during the low points. Right now, I believe all of the mods are on the down-low.

As Terra *Cin* stated, I got seriously wrapped up in school after making it into the Fire Academy - pretty intense stuff.  Just with regular classes I was having a hard time keeping up with the threads, and since it was primarily the RPGs and the Creative sections that I spent the most time I've just really been too busy to even check in let alone post.  The couple of threads I made in the Creative section didn't seem to attract any attention at all anyway, so I kind of faded to other sites with the free time I had. 

I still check in once and a while though.  Got a couple creative writings in mind that I try to add material to when I can *want to work on my armor as well, but no luck there lately.*  Anything that post-worthy I'll remember to put up here.

There's so many RPGs that were never finished that I'd LOVE to either resume or rework and start over, but I honestly wouldn't have the time to keep up with them if we did...

Anyway, yeah, wish I could hang in more, but RL as really had me by the throat lately.  I'll check in as often as I can and try to add to any activity that's going on.

Transferring severs for the site has thrown a lot of people off I'm sure.

I think my problem is I'm busy with my relationship, housework, job hunting, and teaching tae kwon do. It's hard to get here on a daily basis.

That's never a good question to ask, as there's always the risk that it falls in silence like it did here, lol. Doesn't mean anything though. I'm sure your friends here did miss you.

And it's just good to have as many people as possible posting as it keeps things alive.

I try to post something every chance I get that is additive and not just fluff. One problem I have is that I live a day ahead and a country away from almost everyone else. Living in Japan means I get the new posts a morning after the night of active posting. Also, there's the cultural thing. Pop culture here is waaay different than in the states and movies usually take a while to get here. As I mentioned in another thread. SW the clone wars animated series just made it here this October so I am always behind on news and trends so there are just a lot of things that I can't comment on because I have no experience with them. I really want to go back home.  And I missed you too Karson!

Ditto. I don't do forum RP's. I had a really bad experience with it a long time ago so I never did it again. I know a lot of you are thinking "but then isn't the same as now", but really, I don't care. I'll do it over an IM, but in a public forum, no.

And I'm really, really, busy with classes. I'm -still- behind in art class and I feel ready to go insane. At this rate I don't think I'm ever going to catch up. D=

Good luck with your art classes Cecilia. I'm sure if you really put in the effort, you'll be fine before soon. Been there with that not so long ago, and I gotta say I'm happy that it's behind me now. School work piling up can pile up a lot of stress as well, lol.

I can't lie and say that everything is wonderful. Life has been mean to me a bit much lately. I've never been much of a topic creator in the first place. My thoughts are.... too odd for their own topics.

Don't feel bad Si Titran, in the whole time I have been a membe rof the Boba Fett fan club I have only created one topic thread and have yet to submit any Fett-related art. Good to see you again by the way.

I've made some threads too and they were all failures. XD Except for maybe the "stay away from the traveling Titanic museum" one. I'm pretty shy about starting conversations anyways.

I usually only start topics about new collectables. Sometimes I try to find something, anything, to say to keep a thread moving, to keep people talking. Some things I don't care about though, like sports, I have nothing to add there. And I don't do RPGs. And I stay away from spoilers so threads about the later NJO (or legacy) books, or Clone Wars, is out for me.

I guess I took my vacation because it seemed as if no one liked me. Perhaps that's what more people should do. If people don't like you, just leave and come back later. Now basically all the people who didn't like me are gone.

I don't know if it's the economy or what, but it just seems like everybody's taking a serious hit to the jaw from so-called "real life" lately.  Me for instance, I've been slammed for the last couple weeks in a row at school wrapping up my Emergency Medical Tech. class, and there's no break in sight, as they're sending us straight into the next phase of the academy...

It's good to see that the site is moving a little more then it was before though; there seems to be a bit more life lately.

I am happy you are back and I don't think there were people that didn't like you so much as just some miscommunication between you and other members.

Perhaps we should all come up with Ideas about a good topic that a majority could agree on.

Seco, real life is laughable indeed. Take good advantage of your youth while you're at it. Sooner than you know, you'll be a hamster in its wheel, running crazily after things, trying to get somewhere... and then you'll wake up one day wondering where the best of your years went, lol.
