Brett Farve is retiring-this time for good...
here are some interesting things about Farve

Won the Associated Press Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award three times, all in consecutive years (1995, 1996, and 1997; the last shared with Barry Sanders).[78]
Was selected to play in the Pro Bowl ten times in his career.[79]
Was a seven-time All-Pro selection.[80]
Was named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.[81]
Received the NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor 12 times.[citation needed]
Received the AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor 1 time.[82]

Records and milestones
At of the end of the 2008 regular season, Favre owned or shared most of the well-known NFL career records for quarterbacks, including:

Consecutive starts by a quarterback: 269 (291 including playoffs)[5]
Games started by a quarterback: 269 (291 including playoffs)[83]
Career regular-season victories by a starting quarterback: 169 (Regular-season record: 169-100)[5]
Career passing touchdowns: 464[84][85]
Career passing yards: 65,127[84]
Career pass completions: 5,720[86][5]
Career pass attempts: 9,280[5][4][87]
Career interceptions thrown: 310[84][88]
Career games with at least three touchdowns: 65[49]
AP NFL MVP awards: 3 (1995, 1996, 1997)[89] (tied with Peyton Manning)
Career playoff interceptions thrown: 28 (tied with Jim Kelly)[88]
Career playoff losses as starting QB: 10 (tied with Dan Marino)
Favre is one of four quarterbacks to lead the league in touchdown passes four times. The others are Johnny Unitas, Len Dawson and Steve Young.[90]

Favre is one of three NFL quarterbacks to have beaten all 31 other NFL teams in his career.[48]

In addition, Favre owns a number of team records, having printed his name into almost every passing category in the annals of Green Bay Packers history. Most recently, he set the team record for consecutive completions with 20 on November 22, 2007, against the Detroit Lions.[91] With 39 "come-from-behind" 4th-quarter wins and three more overtime victories (Packers total of 40 makes him Green Bay record holder), Favre is second only to John Elway's 47 4th-quarter or OT "come-back wins", in NFL history.

Here's another interesting thing: he sucks, and I hate him.

Its his fault the Patriots weren't in the playoffs.....goddamn tiebreaker

That's still a nice list you got there though, Karson.

I don't know who he is, but yeah, very well done list!

Some may run a short while, but none of them would bide.

Meh it was predictable.  Favre is putting the Jets in the dumps again unless they can find a decent replacement.  I was enjoying their season of relatively good playing.  Was the list off wikipedia?

He sucks, so do the Pats. Therefore, I like him. But he wasn't all that great on the Jets.

Hey guess what...I know this is old news but the Jets released Brett Favre. From what I hear the Vikings are trying to get him to come...I think he should at least make it 20 years in the NFL....I believe that is only 1 more season...

I know this is my third post in-a-row, but bare with me, please.

I pretty sure that Favre is staying retired

Ha, if the Vikings pick him up they will have an epic fail of a season.

Brett Farve is getting his swagger back. Look at the the game last week.

I still think it's pretty lousy of him to put his teams on the spot every season - make a desision man, then Stick to it!  Seems even lower that he'd join the Vikings...  the arch rival of the team that made him great and of the fans that loved him so much.  I'm not usually a guy who says ball players, rich ppl, etc "owe" everybody else for their success; they would have nothing if it wasn't for their own personal drive and commitment - but after all that time I'd feel I owed Green Bay something... more then enough to NOT come back to their stadium twice a year wearing purple and gold...

But you can't deny, he was a Great pick-up by Minnisota; they made a gamble and it's REALLY paying off right now - time will tell if he's able to keep up his rythm or if he'll wear down again like he did in New York

i hope the vikings' season turns to crap this year; i can't forgive him for what he did with the jets.

October 11, 2009 3:33 am #

Wow, was he that bad for them?  I thought he was doing great until he hurt his shoulder - and even then I thought they were a step up from the year prior.

Either way, the Jets REALLY seem to be on the right track right now - their new QB looks like he could be the real deal.  Damn Romo... I'd trade him for your dude right now

Green Bay did him wrong...Brett Favre was at Green Bay 16 years. It was hard for him to move on.
