The Wolverine movie, coming to theaters May 1, 2009, depicts the time when Logan goes through weapon X. I instantly thought of Deadpool, but I knew it couldn't happen. But, IMBD says Ryan Reynolds is starring as Wade Wilson/Deadpool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that is a perfect choice for the actor. Here is the link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458525/

one day a border patrol guard stopped a man riding a bicycle with a bag over his shoulder.
suspicious he brought him inside and searched the bag. all that was in it was sand. he had it tested for drugs and still, it was just sand. so he grudgingly let the man go. the next day the same man came back, riding a bicycle with a bag over his shoulder. he tested it. same thing, just sand. this went on for 7 years. eventually the man was driven insane, and retired. one day he saw the man again and asked:
"I know you were up to something, what were you smuggling!"
The man replied" bicycles a$$hole."

deadpool says this to wolverine. he may be crazy...but deadpools awesome! :D

In other Deadpool news he's getting his own comic series again this September.  It's written by Daniel Way.  Not a fan of his style of writing Deadpool (he wrote Deadpool for a bit while he was in Wolverine Origins).  But if we get some good one-liners in I'll be happy.

I still think the best Deadpool comic is Cable and Deadpool #36.  He ends up fighting Taskmaster with his hands cuffed.  And he beats him too.  Some very funny lines in that one.

He also mixes various nuts and tapes it.

Have you rad the Deadpool Ediquite (I know that's spelled wrong, I just don't feel like looking it up) Book. It's hilarious.

I haven't read the original but I've seen it on the internet in various places.  Here it is for anyone.

Nice find. Deadpool is quite similar to the original Boba Fett, pre-unmasked when mystery meant something.

oh wow those are ROFLMAO. funny how he talks about Reynolds, i like the second one, they clearly must've mistaken him for Spider-Man.

ryan reynolds was in talks to star as either deadpool or flash, with all the troubles 'flash' has been having in dc's justice league, im glad he picked deadpool
he's perfect for the role, great casting job imo

I'm pretty jazzed about this, actually. After seeing Reynolds' performance as Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity (in which pretty much all of his charater's lines were Deadpool-esque) I'm not anticipating disappointment.

I just hope that the director doesn't decide that unmasked scenes would be a good idea, considering the fact that DP is never fond of the general idea of taking his mask off. And if such an event occurs, we had better see some genuine disfigurement, and no pretty-boy faces with a few measly scars.

i have good and bad news...

i know what deadpool will look like in the upcoming movie.

the bad news is that he looks terrible.

i dont want to give any spoilers away,

but i may or may not have seen a movie that may or may not have been about the origins of a character called wolverine...

PM me for any questions about this hypothetical viewing of this mystery movie...

Not a spoiler. Just promo art.

However, check this out:

I guess I'm thinking of a different  Ryan Renolds. One thats.... less... of anything but a joke of himself. In that I don't seem to feel your confidence in him as an actor. I always like to see some one's work before judging them on it. He's just not my first choice. Not that I know who would be, i just dont think Ryan Renolds for anything I suppose.

How is it eh? I'm going to have to check this out before the link gets pulled.

saw the movie last night, this is now a SPOILER ZONE

ye have been warned......

alright, first off i give the movie a 7 or 6 out of 10.

it had great action scenes, good acting , cinematography was okay and the special effects were decent.

now it was meant to tell the origins of wolverine and it did just that, but it was kind of jumpy. you weren't sure where it was going or why it was going there sometimes. the weapon x team was cool if not a little over the top with their ability's. lots of characters were  briefly introduced and then forgotten or killed off quickly. you could see the brotherhood between wolverine and sabertooth pretty well, although wolverine forgives sabertooth too easily at the end.

now to the major issues,
2 things deadpool, and the alternate endings

deadpool was very cool if not a little over the top 1 or 2 good one-liners. Reynolds was perfect as wade.
then stryker got a hold of him. it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be from the early pictures, but they still messed him up pretty bad...

as far as i know there are 2 alternate endings, i got to see them both as i arrived early and caught the end of the previous showing :P

one is wolverine sitting in a Japanese bar "drinking to remember" as he says.
the second is a pile of rubble with a hand that emerges, the hand of deadpool.
the hand finds deadpools severed head as the head opens its eyes and says "shhhhhhhh"

meaning deadpool is alive and well and has some nice scars to show off...

if anyone saw different endings than me i am eager to hear about them as i heard whispers of a secret ending, again involving deadpool...

Cameos-

-Xavier
-quicksilver
-white queen

I thought the film sucked. Good production, great cast, all that stuff. It just felt like it was put together horribly and was made for one purpose: money. Almost like my high school's musical this year.

Overall rating: 5/10

May 2, 2009 10:11 am #

i have to agree, it could have been good, they just had weird editing and flow in the story.

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.
May 2, 2009 10:14 am #

course it was made for money
which we all gave them
to see Wolverine on the big screen
wait, the title was "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"?

and what did we watch?
the on screen marvel studios version of the origins of...wolverine?
Ee gads I'd say we got just what we paid for. lol
I've decided long ago that I often prefer the Hollywood popcorn movie to most 'artsy fartsy' films

I thought it made up for what it lacked with the great ensemble cast and their interaction together. My only main gripe is (per usual) the overuse of crappy cg. The game footage for the 360 looks better than some of that I saw, heh

All in all, enjoyed it a lot, as did the friends with me. Sad that Deadpool was misused so much, but I guess that will be addressed in the spin-off.

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD.

From what I have heard there is also another Deadpool ending.  The Wade Wilson ala beginning of the movie walks through the rubble and picks up the head saying something along the lines of "who are you?"  So that's like clones or something.  Only a rumour though so may not be true.

But the lack of blood annoyed me.  I find it ironic the only blood was in fact fake.

And some of the action sequences were cheesy.  I mean the Agent Zero reload almost made me gag.

I loved the Wolverine movie, but then the fact that Hugh Jackman got naked probably helps :P

I must admit I'm not that up on Deadpool so that's probably why I wasn't so worried. I thought it a good movie, I've been waiting for Gambit to appear for so long, I thought it was great he was there... even if it wasn't for that long.

*SPOILERS*
I saw it, and it was good, if not great. The only thing holding it back was the confusing editing. It needed more deadpool, and in costume. Where did you guys see the deadpool ending?!?!?!?!? I waited and saw the "drinking to remember" ending, but after that it was just the curtains closing. I want him to live!!!! And they messed up his story too. He was called Deadpool because they all betted who would come out of weapon X alive, and he won. He didn't have cyclops power, and he teleported with a belt. He did suffer a fatal injury, but it was not at the hands of Wolverine, and it was his heart getting ripped out. He did survive.

By the way, the wolverine video game ROCKS!! You should have preordered the uncaged edition, it unlocked the weapon X arena. Also, it's (360 version) rated M, unlike the Wii version. Definitely get it if you like wolverine at all, not even the movie.

There are confirmed 2 endings so far, but I've heard rumor of another Gambit ending as well.
The one you're talking about though can be found on youtube even, Deadpool's hand reaches out of the rubble to find his severed head, when it touches the eyes open up and he says "Shhhh" while looking a the camera in a iconic 'breaking the fourth wall' moment for Deadpool fans.

Amen to that.

I thought it was a decent movie. Not as amazing as I thought it would be, but decent. The only reason I LOVED it was the above reason...I mean c'mon what more can I ask for? :P

Action was good, as well as the acting. The CGI wasn't bad in my opinion.

Overall I gave it a 7/10

So, a Deadpool spin-off movie has been confirmed. It's unofficial as to whether Ryan Reynolds will return for the role, but that's what we all hope for, as he would hope for a film that is based off the source material (and sticks to it, he's a fanboy).

Next thing you know, we'll get a Rorschach spin-off or something...

It really wasnt the BEST movie, but I have suffered through worse. Much worse. The editing could have been much better, and the characters developed deeper, but It was  still better than X3.

It was entertaining and enjoyable, which is all that I ask for when i go to the movies. I went through that indie, art movie phase, and ugh I pity that former self. No fun there.

I also didn't notice the "bad" CG. Maybe that's because I'm old school, before we had stuff like that.

I liked the movie, but it wasn't as good as X1 and X2. However. it was much better then X3, which was a disaster.

The action scenes were cool, and the Wolverine/Sabertooth as brothers storyline was interesting. The opening credits was done awesomely. Liev Schreiber, who I have never heard of before, played a great Sabertooth. Better then Tyler Mane, who just looks tough and growls. The movie was full of mutant cameos, and I think this kind of sidetracked from the story, which is supposed to be about WOLVERINE. Ryan Reynolds played a great Deadpool, and I hope he gets the spin-off movie that he says he would like to do.

Overall, I give this movie a 7.5/10.

I first saw Liev in Defiance (which is a great movie).  As soon as I heard he was going to be playing I was very happy because I thought he would be able to add another aspect to Sabertooth which he did.  Even though the writers took some liberties in the origins I didn't mind it.

Reynolds was always the perfect Deadpool for me from when I saw Blade Trinity.

Exactly, I saw Trinity, too. Also, Liev did great, I loved the style of menace, especially in the bar scene. "You don't call, you don't write, how else am I supposed to get your attention?" Favorite line!!! Saw him first in The Sphere (weird movie) with Dustin Hoffman and Samuel L. Jackson. Also, a Deadpool movie is officially confirmed YESSSSSSS!!!!!! (see here: http://marvel.com/news/moviestories.7931.Deadpool_Movie_Confirmed~excl~_More_Wolverine~excl~ ), as is a Wolverine sequel. Saw Origins again, still liked it a lot. Logan is my favorite superhero now, but the game helped a lot. (see a 3-d screenshot on my blog here: http://twilighterz.blogspot.com/ ) . LOL, i forgot I started this thread, way back when.
