I'm guessing it was really good. Unfortunately for me my brother wants to see Taken so it looks like I'll have to see that instead of Watchmen today........

Taken is actually freaking amazing. Just on a side note...

But yeah my brother saw Watchmen yesterday and we sometimes have similar tastes so i asked him how it was. He told me it was too long, not enough ass kicking and too much talking. Also that he had no idea what was going on. I asked him why it was so complicated and he said because they change the time so much (past, present, and future flashes) I'm a tad displeased...ill have to see it for myself of course though.

*frowns slightly*  Has he read the GN?  Because its not supposed to be all action--its a great deal more about the characters, and moral ambiguity...

I was impressed. Although I have a bit tendency to agree with Val's bro. I mean I get the point how its NOT supposed to be all about the action and above and beyond that. BUT. When there was action.. it was grade A, top quality in my opinion and it left me wanting more and more of it.

The  movie makes me regret growing up not allowed to read comics, because I loved the movie. And I feel like im joining the party late. Better late than never I suppose. Now I TOTALLY understand how some vode here are like INTO it. I've read the book online and now I just want to have it too. And all the other cool comics i know i've missed out on now.

Saw it for myself. Really liked it. Rorshach was the best part kinda, but it was pretty good. No real big gripes...odd because I usually tear movies apart analyzing them. However im still with Rorschach: there must have been another way.

That costume is pure awesomeness. Nice job.

Rorshach was definitely my favorite character.

I really liked the Kovacs they chose.  The whole prison scene was very well done.

So I might go as Rorschach to next year's I-CON (International Convention Of Nerds) as Rorschach. I just need pants, mask, jacket and then I'm good to go.

Oh yeah, reg, felt you might be interested in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-ZlKhDI0wQ

That guy uses thermochromatic paint, which changes based on temperature. Genius, really. Get proper cloth for mask, cut some eye holes, wear a black mesh underneath that (or nylons if you prefer, that seems to be the best method for masks), and draw your diagram.

Rofl.^  Love the costume, regimas. You even seem to have a similar build. Great job. Liked the movie (minus the lack of pants of Dr.Manhattan), but haven't read the book.

Rorschach's journal: may 17, 1985-noob carcass in chat room this morning, negative karma bursting from his account. this website is afraid of me. I've seen its true face. the message boards are extended gutters and the gutters are filled with boredom. and when the topics finally get deleted all the spammers will drown. now the whole site stands on the brink. staring down into chaos, all those spammers, noobs and stale members...and all of the sudden none of them can think of anything to say.

glad you like it, its nearly done but no where near movie accurate, but i don't care.

the mask is darker in real life, the flash just makes it look very gray and stripey.

Regimas,

If you got any weird vintage clothes stores around I recommend going there for the pin striped suit. The ones I've got around here have tons of old suits like that. Keep up the good work!

Director's Cut is being shown in theaters starting next week Friday. I've already seen it, and it's totally awesome.

July 8, 2009 3:58 pm #

What in it is different?

July 8, 2009 4:04 pm #

longer scenes, new scenes, some different shots. a major improvement over the theatrical cut.
